Are you religious? If not, does it bother you if someone says "I'll say a prayer for ---" when you or your family has something serious going on in your lives? [4]

Not religious at all & it doesn't bother me at all if someone wants to talk to the imaginary dude in the sky.

I'm not religious, but it doesn't bother me is someone says, "I'll say a prayer for ---". It just shows that they care, and want you to be happy. Religious people should be free to due whatever they want as long as its doesn't hurt anyone. Same for non-religious people, its not cool to bash anyone, for anything.

I am not religious. Very much an atheist. And yes it bothers me. I always reply with "And when someone in your family is I'll, I'll do something useful like science." or something snide.

I'm not religious, but I don't have an issue with the fact that people are religious. To me it's like any other choice they make - whether to use hair gel, whether to spank their own kids - I might have an opinion but it doesn't apply to anyone but me unless they ask me directly for my input.

The only time it offends me when someone says "they'll pray for me" is when they mean it as an insult. "You're gay? Well, I'll pray for you." - Save your prayers for your self, sister - you're gonna need em with that attitude.
