Depends on what I feel like using and what I think sounds best for the kind of song I'm singing. Here's a list of what I have:

Shure Beta 58A (the normal looking one)
Shure 55SH Series II (the silver, old school one)
MXL V88s
Zoom H2n
Mikey 2.0

The first two are dynamic mics. They're live mics and are supposed to be used with a mixer, but all I plug 'em into is an audio interface and it works fine, even for home recordings. The MXL is a condenser mic. The Zoom H2n is a usb mic with 5 mic capsules, allowing you to switch between 4 different input settings. I like the Zoom because it can function as a field mic. The Mikey 2.0 is this cute little stereo microphone that you can plug into your iPhone or iPod and use to record. It's got 3 input settings, so it's pretty versatile for a little gadget. Plus there are apps you can use to record full songs onto your iPhone/iPod!!!

If you're looking into buying a microphone, it doesn't have to be expensive. Specially for home recordings. Expensive stuff are great and all, but if you don't know how to use what you have, then it's no good. I can help you look for a mic if you want :)

Any suggestions for iPod (more specifically iPod classic) alternatives?

MUSIC PRODUCTION, BABY <3 DLSU before because my parents said it's better to take something "stable" during college so no matter how many times I fail in whatever "unstable" profession I choose in the future, I'll always have a backup. Finally decided that the stable life wasn't for me and I went with my heart and gut and pursued music. It's not that I have a hard time with Accountancy and Economics (took up a double major in La Salle); I just couldn't deal with the fact that I wasn't doing what my heart was wired to do.

Yep, it's called "Ano". Wrote it when I was 14 :) it's on youtube somewhere. The most recent recording of it is a video of my sister and I singing it.
