Hi, just been reading your post about 50,000 pinterest follwers in a week...that's amazing how long has it taken you to build that up in total? no that you have that many followers what are you going to do with them just the same kinda posts or something

I began pinning seriously about a month an a half ago. I take 15 minutes every morning and search the internet specifically for interesting images that I want to pin. After a month of giving this kind of attention, one of my boards started to grow exponentially. Now I am approaching 100,000 followers with no signs of slowing down. I plan to continue posting as I have, and searching the internet to find the highest quality inspirational images I can find. It has been very rewarding to build these cross category archives of inspiration. And the skyrocketing follower count is a nice bonus! I have been approached by several major brands looking to use my Pinterest board as media, but at this point I have no plans of making that space available. It will continue to be a pure source of things that I genuinely like and want to share with others.

I was working for the advertising agency Wieden+Kennedy in Portland, Oregon when I was approached by their Tokyo branch to come work on Nike. It has been very different working in Japan, where I find the average attention span is much shorter than what I experienced in the US. Ideas need to be very simple and iconic to stand out in Tokyo. It is a challenge to get my 'outsider' opinions listened to at times, but I always try to understand the problems I am assigned to, and find practical solutions. It is not easy. It takes a tremendous amount of digging and seeing what's out there. It is a challenging but very rewarding process.
