Besides, I also liked a series of picture books that teaches young kids how to learn English. I thought of it as sparkly, with all the photographed picture and colourful pages. And I remember that I had a lot of those books, but now I don't know where they are anymore.

And manga-wise... I loved Doraemon. Have the almost whole series of it: the originals, the adventures, the gadget series, the knowledge and learning series--almost complete.
