I think that choosing tattoos based on what you love is a great way to have something that is a timeless reminder of that interest/love/desire.

The most important thing to remember is that tattoos DON'T have to have a meaning. They really can just be tattoos. You don't need a grand explanation to go behind them because you don't need to justify tattoos to your friends/family/strangers. Spending as much time with her as I can and doing what I can to provide for her, since I am unable to live in the same country as she does, is a shitty way to be a parent.

Instead of putting her through the stress and trauma of me being there one day and not being able to return to the country the next is no way to be there for a child.
