Deep inside, I don't consider myself as an artist but rather as a curious person with an artistic inclination. Since I am not an artist in the typical sense of the word, I don't have to play by the rules, I am not bent on making art in order to make money. I'm always motivated and inspired, it comes naturally to me, I guess. There is just so much beauty in this world to not feel motivated to capture it or interpret some of it. When I'm not drawing I feel fine, if I don't feel like drawing I stop, I can go without drawing for long periods of time (provided I'm doing something that pleases me just as much)

I have never gotten over the hump, in fact, I circumvented the hump, I don't make a living as an artist, most people think I do but I don't. Although I have worked as a graphic designer in the past, I don't do anything remotely as artistic to make money anymore.

I lack the patience and the discipline necessary to repeat myself day and night to please other people so I never really pursued it as a full time profession. I've been more interested in drawing for my own pleasure and stopping whenever I feel like it, so I do other stuff to earn a living. I am not an example to follow, what I do is artistic suicide. Perception always beats reality.

      So?

What's the fucking difference between Perry and Obama?

      NONE!

They're both republican (actually, Perry is less hypocritical, at least he is a registered republican) they're both heartless career politicians who will say and do anything to get elected, at least Perry comes across as the racist, belligerent asshole he truly is, Obama is way more insidious and cunning and hence way more dangerous because he tricks you into thinking he wants to change things, when in fact he benefits from things remaining as they are.

They are both warmongers and they are both slaves to the 1% who rule this country, if anything, Perry doesn't make any excuses for it. Obama, on the other hand, has sold the country to Wall street, forced an unfair health care program on us, a so water down and ineffective plan that only benefits the insurance companies and has protected the bank cartel and the oil companies while pretending to protect you from the harmful practices that put this country in the ditch that is in.

They're both corporate puppets and neither of the two care about you. What are you so happy about?

You're as dumb as they come, you're not part of that 1%, you're going down, you stupid inbred!

I am mad but different reasons.

Back in the 90's I was worried about everyone having access to computers, the internet and image editing software. Sure a lot of Photoshop vomit was created and continue to be spewed today but today's art is no different than yesterday's art. The lowering of standards is as old as time. There will always be dedicated and influential artists, as well as lazy and inconsequential ones. I actually believe things are getting better; with so much mediocrity all around us, it's getting easier to spot the trailblazers.

1.— I like women almost exclusively, because women are the most beautiful beings in the universe, even women like drawing women.

I don't like drawing animals because they are easy to draw, there is no challenge in drawing animals and I hate creatures.

Mother nature is fine by me but most people who choose to draw plants and trees, have lots of problems depicting people, if they draw a cactus or a palm tree or a river, half-ass is good enough, no one would challenge the veracity or the correct anatomy or proportions or the overall balance of a river or a tree down to its most minuscule detail (unless the work is so full of flaws in a way that renders the effort laughable) if a tree is missing a few leave or even a couple of branches, there is no problem, however, if the representation of a human being on a sheet of paper is slightly distorted or missing something that should be apparent to the viewer, the errors become blatant and can undermine the work as a whole.

2.—You may never see me draw a penis (unless that penis is my own) I have drawn my penis many times, I love my penis. My penis is my best friend.

I don't care much for sports, I watch them because they're the only thing on tv that's not scripted or predictable (in general terms, anyway) And I used to play soccer as a kid so if I have to pick a favorite team today, that would be Barcelona FC.

Prostate is fine, my balls are another story ... for another day.

I must have 4 hats left. I love wearing them because I hate to comb my hair. My favorite hat is the one I gave away.

You seem hostile, I forgive you because you are too young to understand how life really works and what my approach to life is. My reply to your question was sincere, honest and straightforward. Perhaps you were expecting to hear a different one and you felt I disappointed you somehow.

Fear not, my good friend. I will explain to you in luxurious detail how this works, not that I think you deserve an explanation, I will do it because I'm quite sure this rant will make me look good in the eyes of certain females of our species. Women love a resourceful and clever man. Please take notes as this is the key to a lazy artist's success in America:

Just so you know, the online store does not generate any profit, it only feeds itself and helps promote the many artists I help publish (including myself) by allowing me to travel to and from the many conventions all around the world, where I meet the many artists I help publish and the many people who buy these books.

I am an old hippie, as such I am retired from work, I live off a real estate property I bought back in the eighties for a song and a dance (I really didn't want to buy it but I was forced to, the deal was sweet and it made sense at the time) it pays for my food and utilities, I own an apartment so I don't pay rent or mortgage.

I don't buy any new clothes, shoes or any luxuries, I don't attend weddings or parties of any kind so there is no reason for me to own a suit or a tuxedo. I own 2 pairs of 99¢ sandals, 2 pairs of cheap blue jeans (which I find in discount stores) and black T shirts friends give me as gifts (usually T shirts they have printed for promotional purposes) Since I wear the same color shirts and pants no one can tell these are all the clothes I own.

I have a car but I rarely use it because it costs too much to fuel, I keep it parked on the street to avoid paying for a garage, I do have to move it from one side of the street to the other to avoid parking tickets. I walk and I ride my bicycle everywhere in the city, I don't buy organic food and I don't pay for fun, I have basic cable and I download only free porn and free music.

For entertainment I have sex, I write crappy poetry and I draw. I don't spend money on recreational drugs or medicines, I don't go to bars or nightclubs, I hate strip clubs, massage parlors and whore houses (I don't like people touching me) if I go to a restaurant I let the other person buy me dinner (they either think I'm well off and that eventually they will recover their investment, or that I will pay for dinner next time we meet or they are just genuinely happy to take care of me and so I let them) I don't drink fancy drinks, I don't smoke and I don't pay for sex.

I am quite healthy so I avoid the doctor and the hospital; I have been to a Dr. 3 times in 40 years. I meditate, walk and bike a lot so I have the heart rate of an athlete and the blood pleasure of a 14 year old boy, I shit at least twice a day and jerk off regularly so as to keep my prostate healthy and if for any reason I do get sick (usually seasonal allergies or a cold) I stay home and rest until I get well, I don't have health insurance or life insurance or any kind of insurance, if car insurance wasn't required, I wouldn't even have that.

if I get hurt in an accident, I do what all immigrants do: I go to the emergency room and get treated, no hospital can deny you care, it is the law. I have contributed to social security, worker benefits and unemployment insurance for a lifetime and I never once applied for or received any of the benefits I paid tons of money for, so I don't feel bad by once in a blue moon going to the emergency room for treatment, fuck the government! I do not owe money to credit card companies or to anyone person or business.

I just want to draw naked girls, now don't be a dick and don't tell me to go find a job, that's disrespectful! I don't want a job, as a matter of fact, I don't want to work! I have worked all of my life, I am tired of working for assholes and I don't want to take shit from young people who can't tell shit from Grey Poupon™ mustard.

If you follow the simple guidelines described above, you too can be like me, a cheap & crafty son of a bitch.
