From your tweets you've consistantly attacked Starcraft 2's story, but what games do you consider to have an exceptional one?
A Mind Forever Voyaging. Planescape Torment. Gabriel Knight 2. The Longest Journey (when you get to it). Grim Fandango (ignoring the fact that it doesn't actually make any sense). Portal. Psychonauts. Silent Hill 2. Bouncing Babies.
A great story isn't necessarily a question of having a stunningly original plot, but the character of it - how much you enjoy spending time with these people, how you empathise with them and what you want to see happen to them. Starcraft II's story fails not just because the grand sweep of its story is frankly tedious and cliched, but because it totally wastes the opportunity to tell it with interesting people. From Raynor down, they're a bunch of empty cardboard cut-outs.
