Reflecting back, what are your thoughts on high school?
High school was an interesting time. I think a lot of it was wasted potential. Don't get me wrong, I am so grateful for the education I received, because it was most definitely the foundation for my success in college. But if I had had anywhere CLOSE to the motivation, dedication, passion and drive while I was in high school that I do now-- I would have had a totally different experience. I was a good student in high school, but nowhere near what I am now. I didn't care. I did what I had to do but I didn't have a personal investment in it. But I think it's all a process. I am who I am today because of my experiences in high school. And why I'm not done evolving (because we never are), I wouldn't go back and change anything then, because how would that affect the Mary I am now? It's all beneficial to growing up...which is something I thought would end eventually...that I would "finish" growing up.
I know now that's not the case.
My thoughts on high school are that I had no idea what I was working towards at the time.
But I realize now that I was working towards an evolution of me.
