High school was an interesting time. I think a lot of it was wasted potential. Don't get me wrong, I am so grateful for the education I received, because it was most definitely the foundation for my success in college. But if I had had anywhere CLOSE to the motivation, dedication, passion and drive while I was in high school that I do now-- I would have had a totally different experience. I was a good student in high school, but nowhere near what I am now. I didn't care. I did what I had to do but I didn't have a personal investment in it. But I think it's all a process. I am who I am today because of my experiences in high school. And why I'm not done evolving (because we never are), I wouldn't go back and change anything then, because how would that affect the Mary I am now? It's all beneficial to growing up...which is something I thought would end eventually...that I would "finish" growing up.
I know now that's not the case.
My thoughts on high school are that I had no idea what I was working towards at the time.
But I realize now that I was working towards an evolution of me. -
because nothing else makes sense until you've mastered the first and held on to the second.

I could give you the boring answer of reading/writing/listening to music/movies, etc. But instead I'm just going to be completely random here: i love it when I get out of my 6-9 class early, just as the sun is going down and I get to walk home with the most beautiful view of the sunset. Pinks and oranges and reds crowding the horizon, while at the same time being kissed by the black velvety blanket of night as it spreads across the sky--priceless.

I usually text someone I know will be awake. I've had the bad habit of creating insomniac text buddies for a while now. I've sort of become dependent on the knowledge that there's always someone I can reach if I need to be distracted, or calmed down, or just plain ridiculous with. That helps me sleep.

...thank you SO much! You just made my night. :)

Ummm...I'm not sure what you mean? I would go to it...unlock it...climb in. Actually, I'd probably be a little creeped out that I was the last one to leave, so I'd likely look around and be pretty paranoid until I was in the car with the doors locked. But, yeah.

But the leopard print one is the cutest one!! *sigh*.
I have a room, it's very nice and cozy. Although, admittedly it would be much cozier with a snuggie... -
Absolutely not. I'm an animal-lover. You know why? Because animals are helpless. They don't have a voice, and they have no way of communicating. It's awful. And I would never intentionally hurt an animal. Where as humans? We suck. We cause so much hurt, pain, and animosity. Our human race is a disgrace. Not saying that those political prisoners deserve to be in prison, but do I know them? No. Do they mean anything to me? No. If they were my friends, family, or loved ones, then maybe we'd have a bigger discussion about killing the horse. But, some strangers I've never met? I'd save the horse.

well, it's my room mate's cat. Does that make it better?
-
No I do not, but I sort of want to get one for my cat...and then of course, if I did that, I would want a matching one. It becomes a problem.

I would give anything to go back to Hawaii. It was the best and most relaxing week of my life. I would also like to go to greece and asia.

Drew Barrymore, because she is beautiful in spite of her socially awkward and bumbling qualities.

Perfect blue skies and fluffy white clouds, 60 degrees, crunchy leaves underfoot, friends, sweaters, hot coco, a good book, good food, good wine, cozy blankets, comfy couches, and lots of laughter.

People who are terrified, but do it anyone. These are the types of people who are finding and taking hold of their dreams. That inspires me.
