We aren't quite sure yet. It may be the week following Sept 25 weekend. Or the week following Maxt out weekend in November.

If you are a current PD Member, you should have gotten our youtube account info. Our youtube is not just for logging and recapping choreo, But we would like vids from PD events or randomness or anything like that.
The log in info was sent out as the first letter of congratulations after our most recent audition. The main included a roster of the team, their phone numbers, and emails. Below all the names and whatnot, there was the youtube log in info
If you are not a current PD member, please contact us at paradime1010@gmail.com and we can see what we could do. -
Unfortunately we do not plan to have any sort of audition this summer. But if there ever for any reason to have one, we will keep everyone posted

Actually we do compete. Right now for this year we are aiming to compete at Set It Off (sept 25 in las Vegas), Prelude Nor Cal (Sometime in Nov) and Maxt Out Long Beach (also in november). We also do showcases. july 10 is a showcase called BTNKS and its where we will be debuting this years set.

I believe that each person has their own way of dealing with stage fright. Even those that seem to feel comfortable on stage, there is always that little tickle in the stomach.
Personally (itsa me... marty!) its about getting in a zone. Before taking the stage one quote pops in my mind ("Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear." -Ambrose Redmoon).
But once on that stage, everything fades away and its just me, my team, and the music. -
I think it was a bit overwhelming. In a Directors POV it was overwhelming for us, so we could only imagine how it was like for people auditioning. I would also like to think that despite only being in existence for only about a year, the team is seen as a more credible team.

Maybe you should ask a woodshop teacher

It was bittersweet.
A lot of great talent came out and the final draft of our roster we are very happy about.
But was bitter cause the decisions that were made that involved those we know or love.
People dont seem to know that auditions are hard, difficult and nerve wracking on both ends. It was a very stressful deliberation.
But like said earlier, despite how down we are, the auditions were a success. many people came out. about 35+ people auditioned and even more came to take the workshop. -
Even though the audition that passed was PD's 1-year establishment, it was a middle of PD's dance year audition. Our yearly audition occurs around November.

Our advice, advice that is more than likely backed up by any dancer in our community, is to take classes/workshops. Would one take a final exam without studying if they hope for the highest rate of success? No, so why would one not train for an audition?
Teams constantly train, so by the time their dance year ends, they will be more prepared for the following year’s audition. So how can people not on the team keep up with them? Take classes/workshops. It’s that simple. Taking classes/workshops has so many benefits such as having a faster “pick up” (the speed at which you learn choreo) and longer retention (the ability to memorize choreo). It also helps in training your body to get rid of any awkwardness. People in the OC/Fullerton area and the areas surrounding it have many opportunities to train. There’s TM Dance Studio, Quest Learning Center, Boogiezone, and many more (Mavyn company classes in diamond bar. Style Dance Studio in West Co). If money is a problem, even youtube can help. We have seen or heard of people who learned straight out of youtube. An alumni to PD even learned Keone’s black and gold piece right off youtube so its possible. There are so many opportunities but it all depends on all of YOU to take that opportunity. -
(if I didnt make it now, I dont think Ill make it later?). Statements like this would only predetermine your own failure.
Auditions are tough, this mid-year audition was tough. And in the face of this tough audition, if one doesn’t make the cut, yes it would be discouraging, but the harder we fall, the higher we rise.
So what should you do? Keep at it, constantly train, grow and prepare yourself for next auditions
And if you are one that has close ties with PD already, do not fade away. Do not feel as if the connections you made were lost. Stay connected to its members even if you aren’t one. Dance is just a craft we do, but friendships are ties we keep. -
marriage of two crews are illegal in CA.

its okay... ITS ALL OVER COME 2012!

i think some of the pros of PD is that the members have a really strong sense of team and treating it like a family. Another pro might be that we have members trained in a lot of different styles. We have a breakers, house dancers, poppers, swag; there's variety.
Some of our cons. Sometimes we have wavering drive. it takes some work to get majority of our members motivated. And we take too many breathers and breaks during practice, which is gonna change.
I dont know what else to put. Maybe add on later... but this question was hard -
country music dancing... not irish river dancing.
