14 kinds of awesome, but while up front it seems like you know that, underneath, you're unjustifiably hard on yourself.

I hate to admit it's a "comic book movie," but I'd be lying if I said X-Men: First Class doesn't have me fully charmed and intrigued based on its trailers/premise.

Aquaman. Sorry, he was the first thing on my mind after watching an episode of "Smallville" starring him. TV Aquaman seems much more badass than comic book Aquaman.

Having to be creative on demand. The interviewing and research is easy enough to do with a deadline in mind, but actually sitting down and making sense of it, whether or not you're feeling like it, can be challenging. And sometimes you strike gold, but most times you get out something just good enough.

Obviously, you've never had the pleasure of The Fist, because if you had, you wouldn't be asking such a question.

Hard to pin down ONE thing, but a little thing sticks in my memory forever for some reason: When I was about 18, barely working, mostly poor and completely broke, at a coffeeshop one evening after not eating all day, and @jennocide gave me $5 to buy a sandwich. I know it's weird that of all things in my 33 years that stands out, but it does. And cemented the awesomeness of Jenn to me for reasons others may never know.

I've been vegetarian to some degree for about 13 years. I stopped eating red meat my senior year of high school, but I went full veggie on my 21st birthday. Problem was, I didn't have a very diverse diet and mostly just ate pizza and fries. So a year later, I added poultry and fish back to my diet. Within a few years, I discovered Thai, Mediterranean and Indian food, which helped make the transition back to vegetarian much better and healthier. So I was pretty solid for almost a decade.

To be honest, I do eat fish on occasion, something I started doing about 2 years ago. I don't really self-identify as a "vegetarian" or "pescatarian" or whatever, I kind of just do what I do.

Why would I be planning a dinner party with four Batman villains. Am I a Batman villain? Am I trying to get in good with the bad guys so they'll have my back when Batman finds out I've been providing the Joker with a supply of fresh chemicals? Or am I spying on them FOR Batman, under the ruse of a friendly get-together?

Well, whatever the reason, here's who's coming to dinner: The Riddler, because he's a snazzy dresser. Mr. Freeze, so he can keep things cool in case the A/C goes out. Anarky, in the hopes he can hack my computer to make it run faster. And Talia al Ghul (does she count as a villain?), because, um, she's hot.

Villains I won't invite: The Joker, because you can't trust that guy with the punch bowl. Penguin, because I fucking hate birds. Poison Ivy, because I'm sure as a vegetarian she'd claim I'm eating her friends. Two-Face, because no one needs to look at that face while trying to eat. Catwoman, because that chick'll steal the steel off my fork.

That implies I watch "The Simpsons." And if I did, do you mean actual cast, as in the person providing the voice of a character, or do you mean the character itself? Don't you hate when people answer questions with questions?

I don't have an anti-pirate bias in general, it's just not my thing. And I have no idea what The Sea Hawk or Captain Blood is. But I know Major Blood! Anyway, my issue is more an annoyance with the pirate/zombie/ninja geek chic thing. Of course, this is coming from a guy with a robot tattoo.
