The essence of programming is to write logic to solve problems. It’s not always easy, sometimes tedious but in the end very gratifying.

Before you enroll in a class, I suggest you try some tutorials online. Our own @TWHarr had a blast learning how to write Twitter bots with http://learnpythonthehardway.org/book/

Keep in mind that programming languages are just tools. It’s what they enable to do that’s interesting, just like a hammer and nails aren’t really fun by themselves, but building a bookshelf is pretty darn sweet.
