Not really. A lot of people don't really appreciate how utterly beautiful the Universe/existence is, and so they turn to other things/external deities for divinity/grace.
If I was to call it "The Universe" then people would be like "well ok i have one of those, big whoop" etc. It is hard because I don't really ever discuss religion with other people simply because it is so hard to communicate your ideas to others without sounding like a complete idiot.
Just like God in Christianity has multiple names (God/the Lord/Yahweh/Jehovah etc), so my god has multiple names (God/The Universe etc), it just helps different people wrap their minds around the concept, I guess. -

Why not? I subscribe to a set of religious beliefs, and to me the universe is the supreme being. i don't call it God when I refer to it privately, but, if you would define God as the Supreme Being of each particular religion (be it Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Scientology, Pastafarianism etc) then I would say that yeah, my God is the Universe.
What other name would I have for it that people would understand? -
