I'm so happy we've inspired you! ♥
I myself usually have the opposite problem (most things are too big), so if it's alright, I'm more going to give you general sizing tips and point you in the right direction to learn more!
Items will (almost) always have the measurements listed if you buy via brand websites or egl_comm_sales. I don't know how large you mean by larger sizing, but there are brand items that can go up pretty far in measurements. Measure yourself (bust and natural waist) and know these measurements in both inches and cm. You want to give yourself 2 inches (or 5cm) in leeway in measurements of clothing, so if it says the max bust is 40 inches, you should be 38 inches or lower to wear it. You can also go the route of having custom made - Raven (the other co-host) does that a lot, because she's on the bigger end of lolita sizing too.
Finally, here's a community on livejournal especially for plus-sized lolitas: http://egl-plus.livejournal.com
You'll be able to find tons of info and resources there!
Hope this helps! :3 -
The only reason to ever go to Colorado is because I'm here. :D
-
no problem!
and really, just listen to what your body is telling you ;] that's all I can recommend. -
The holidays were great :] I loved having the time off~ [still off until the 18th, in fact!]
I don't have a resolution per se, because I'm kind of bad at keeping them >__> but I hope to do my best in school and get into the study abroad program I'm in the process of applying for! -
BMI says 111, but we know that's a load of bs ;P haha. I know that I personally feel my best when I'm 95-100 (I don't like being much below that though, I start feeling a little too skinny), and that's what's important! :D
-
110 is a really good weight for our height! That's what I weighed when I was at my heaviest, but it was really weird circumstances for me lol. (I had a giant ovarian cyst that needed to be surgically removed - I literally dropped 15lbs instantly after they took it out) I also have a really small bone structure, like I said, presumably because 1) both my parents have small bone structures and 2) I didn't get all the nutrition I should have as a kid, because I was a picky eater growing up in a third-world country xP
If you do try to lose weight, please make sure to do it the healthy way! Keep eating enough and just add a little exercise to your routine. -
To be honest, that's not really something I can tell you how to do.
When I first started dressing "different", I was really scared. I remember wearing striped knee-high socks and being so afraid that people would make fun of me for it. But you know what? Even if they did make fun of me, I wouldn't know it. I took in the compliments and blocked out the haters. I wasn't even close to confident at first, but I did it anyway. Even now, I sometimes get nervous before I walk out my front door. Even now, I worry that when those girls down the hall are laughing, they're making fun of me. But you have to learn that it doesn't matter. It'll take time, for sure, but I think everyone has the potential to be themselves.
Good luck :] -
It's alright :] I'm 5'5"/165cm and usually around 95lbs/43kg, although it can vary. In fact, I just recently lost a few pounds with no explanation, which worried me quite a bit...but it looks like I'm gaining them back, so yay! Butyes, I'll probably get a bunch of people going "omg eat something" or "YOU'RE ANOREXIC" now. Nah, I eat plenty and none of my bones are visible. I have an extremely small bone structure (25" ribcage/underbust WAT), and I've found it impossible to actually gain weight. It's ok though, I'm happy with my body ;D
And thank you! I'm pretty fond of my new hair too~~ -
While I do still like the style, probably not. I'm more interested in lolita and to an extent, gyaru.
I still do wear punkish things on occasion, but I don't go full-out anymore. I guess it's just not "me" anymore! -
When did I get this question..? lol.
Definitely meeting An Cafe for the first time. I went through a lot to get that autograph ticket, but it was so worth it! -
#1 will always belong to An Cafe, even if they never put anything new out again.
2-5 is pretty fluid, but those consistently there: Utada Hikaru, Girugamesh, LM.C
And for a 5th...maybe Big Bang? Currently I'm obsessed with U-KISS's new mini album, though. -
The study of things international? lol.
I'm assuming you're asking about my major, in that case...we're required to take 3 years of language in our concentration [mine is Asian studies, so I have to take either Chinese or Japanese], history courses, philosophy courses, political science courses, etc. It covers a wide range of liberal arts courses concentrated on the area of the world we want to focus on. -
You mean in high school? At the beginning, I wore "normal stuff", but near the end of my sophomore year, I started getting a little more unique. I wore lots of bright colors and lots of colorful costume jewelry. I loved Converse shoes [still do, in fact] and wore those most days.

Well, I actually haven't dressed punk in quite some time now...but when I did, I mostly just stuck it out in the heat lol. It doesn't get humid here, so that definitely helped, I don't know about where you live. But it meant less layers and usually a skirt.

Weird, 'cause I just had Thai yesterday lol. Yeah, I'll go with Thai, 'cause I'm addicted to curry...

The first thing you want to do is research, research, research! Make sure you've got the style DOWN before you try to start dressing in it. I recommend buying some recent Kera magazines and flipping through those, as well as lurking on the everyday_vk livejournal community for some ideas. Once you feel like you've got a grasp of the style, you can start buying stuff. You don't need brand to dress well, but it is always a good addition to your wardrobe. CDJapan sells a lot of punk brands. You can find a lot of workable pieces in normal stores too, so keep your eyes peeled. And remember that a huuuge part of the style is the hair! Go to a really good, modern salon to get a hair cut and learn how to style it. There are some tutorials in the memories at everyday_vk that you can look at, as well as some on youtube. I hope this helps! :]

Oh wow haha xD;
I don't claim to be an expert on either fashions, but I have done my fair share of research on them, so I'd say I have a pretty good grasp on them. -
No. Visual Kei is a term coined to describe a band that focuses on their visual appearance just as much as on their music, essentially.
Lolita may have been made popular by the VK artist Mana and/or his fans, but this doesn't make it VK itself.
They sometimes have similarities [eg the outfits Versailles wears], but Lolita is not part of VK.
