ha! a lot like I am now, only I wore bright green corduroy pants that were wayyyy too big for me at least 2x a week. good student but snuck out to raves. bffs with my history teachers (we'd eat breakfast together every morning). small but tight group of friends. wrote lots of poetry and obsessively journaled.

un petit peu, mais je parle jamais aux etats-unis et j l'oublie plus que je me souviens.

sure that's riddled with errors but you get the point! I have a chance to speak almost never - was closest to fluent when I had 2 french housemates in london, but it's been 5+ years and when I was in paris in april 2008 I was shocked at how much I'd forgotten... so I'm sure it's worse now.

but I'd love someone (patient) to practice with! ;)

yes. I really think an all-girls environment is so, so helpful, both in overcoming stigmas about girls not being 'smart' or into math/science, or being outspoken, or being catty... of course girls at my high school still thought some of that, but we had all these great young women proving them wrong.

I think all-boys schools can be a little more complicated, but all-girls schools are the business.

dear not-bfp, that is a very good question. and my dude is leaving me lonesome for the next five days so, in true heternonormative, monogamous tradition, that means I have more time for the *other* people in my life! maybe you could pass that on to her? along with a big juicy smack on the ass?

I've moved around a lot in the last decade - Philly to Pittsburgh to Wellington (NZ) to London to Hilo, HI to Long Beach. I've been in LA area now for a little over two years and it's been good to catch my breath!

I would say I'm more interested in different urban experiences - but I've been very homesick for Hilo lately and I miss the way I can savor moments in a rural environment. Anywhere I've lived, I'd live again. Right now I'm very drawn to more extreme environments, since LA has no weather. So the Southwest and/or Northwest US, western Canada. Those are the places that come to mind.

highlights, camel lights, red wine and cheese.

in all seriousness (thanks for the compliment) I was one of those kids who always had the features they'd have as an adult. so I have pretty much always looked like me.

hmmmmm. I wonder who wrote this question. I WONDER.

bfp calls me hoffa as a defense mechanism - she is projecting her own bully tactics onto me as a way to avoid self-awareness. well, and I can be a little bit of an asshole...

Muppets for sure. Animal and Miss Piggy are basically unstoppable.

Shoes. I lived in Hawaii for a year and half and wore Crocs, sneakers or the same pair of Locals flip flops. All of my cute shoes stayed right in the closet where they were safe from torrential rain. During the same period, however, I ate my weight in cheese many times over - so the choice is clear.

I've decided it's a perpetual survey where ppl can ask me embarrassing questions about my life or the meaning of the universe or how to kill zombies. Drunk questions are especially encouraged.
