Ruby is into a bit of everything and nothing. She likes music and paintings and theatres and movies and photography and designing and a lot more - but her grasp on the topics doesn't extend past "I like this". The only theory she really tries to get behind is that of science. She would love to understand more of maths, physics and (bio)chemistry, but usually she finds it hard to wrap her head around anything that isn't explained to her by Alan.
Robin's favourite type of art would be technology. Everything she works on is purely for the beauty of it - not that many people would understand. It's not like sculptures or anything, it's something very Robin-esque. -
* RUBY: Easy as pie. A trip around the UK to Scotland, Wales, London, Brighton... anything that might be fandom-related and then some.
* ROBIN: Alan's basement. She suspects some pretty neat gadgetry there.
* DEAN: Rome. I don't know why that came to me, but I think I remember some joke about it. Anyway, I kinda can see Dean in Rome, having a good time.
* ALAN: His house. With enough supplies to not have to leave for a week. He loves getting away, but usually he finds vacations very busy and if he stays at home something always comes up (and he ends up in his office anyway). -
* RUBY: Hard to say because she goes through movies like other people go through underwear. She does like "Sherlock Holmes" a lot (14-times!a-lot) and "Star Trek" is always a save bet - but eventually you can't tell what it'll be today.
* ROBIN: "Babe" and the original version of "The Ring". For weeks she was mixing up the plots and at one point was terrified of the sliced bacon in the fridge because suddenly neither plot made sense any more - now it does, in her own little world. She's still convinced they're one film where a little pig goes out to become a sheepdog to save a girl who has fallen into the well. Yes, there might be a bit of Lassie in there as well. -
Half full, I'd say. I don't know with what but I intend to find out if it reacts with ethanol (by filling the empty half with ethanol) and if it might be suitable for internal application. Or... maybe I find out if it's poisonous first, discard it and fill the glass with twice the amount of ethanol.
If you want a PG-answer: The glass isn't full yet. It's still got potential. Imagine all the things you could still pour in that glass. Granted, some might vaporise and make the glass a little less full, but that only leaves room for more. Aaaaaaand if you add liquids with different densities the sum will be less than the individual volumes. Things become denser - it's like knowledge that comes together at the end of it all. If you connect all the spots correctly it'll leave room for more. -
Well, some of these don't describe them as per se, they rather *fit* - here we go:
* RUBY: Hah! I bet you were thinking Kaiser Chiefs, weren't you? But actually as the time went by it became "Life on Mars" by David Bowie. It's hard to describe, but it embraces parts of her backstory and some of her fandoms.
* ROBIN: "I can't decide" by Scissor Sisters. It's a fast, upbeat melody with pretty weird lyrics. Fits the description. ;)
* DEAN: Somewhere in between "Broken" by Robert Downey Jr and "Easier to Run" by Linkin Park. The former describes what Dean is running from - by being in an almost escapist relationship with Robin. It's unconventional and commitment w/o commitment. It's abstract and simple and it gives him an opportunity to hide from his broken self he hates so much.
* ALAN: I've been rumaging through my brain and iTunes until I was almost ready to say "Ruby" by the Kaiser Chiefs - then I was going to say "Resistance" by Muse but I don't want anyone to think it's got something to do with Twilight (no offence). I think I'll go with a crossover between "Superman tonight" by Bon Jovi (it does describe Ruby as well, trying to be independent and brushing people off) and "The First Cut is the Deepest" but Alan is less whiny than that. And a bit of "I want love" by Elton John, maybe. He might the most complex of the bunch yet. I think I'm getting a headache...
