the flight on the way to Japan (Dec 2008). Literally a roller coaster type of turbulence. And I'm not exaggerating. The guy (a complete stranger) next to me was in tears.

here's a very serious answer to your serious question: 1) Personally, i don't find anything beautiful in roaches. maybe one day i will, but i doubt it. 2)I can probably overcome that, why not. I'd hate to see how though. LOL. Most likely it will happen when I've moved out to my own place, where there is no one but me to deal with it.
As a matter of fact...when I see God one day, I will ask him what purpose roaches have...given the fact they've survived and propagated under even the unlivable circumstances...maybe I can suggest to NASA to throw a bunch out in Mars...see if they live. -
Hm..this might require a lenghtier response. To answer your question, I do guard my heart (yes), but not so tight that I alienate people out of my life. I've had very few major regrets in my life when i came to relationships. I've learned lessons, and endured my share of pain. But through all of them, I have learned how to appreciate and accept people. So perhaps, I don't think I've missed out on love at all, and still am in God's will (by His grace!)
I think it's great if you have a great relationship with God, but bear in mind, it really is never just about you and God. Yes you set your heart before God, and let Him make your heart right...but the love you have for God will have to overflow to others too (whether friendships or 'romantic' relationships--for lack of a better term). Isn't that what the Church is all about? Loving others too? Maybe you need to ask yourself, "am I willing to love another person as much as I love myself?"
Perhaps, what you fear is that kind of "idolatrous" love for somebody that they consume up your thoughts, energy, time and eventually changes you to someone you are not. That-- my friend-- is an unhealthy kind of love and that's the kind you shouldn't get involved in.
Pray for wisdom, my friend. If you'd still like to message me, you probably know how to reach me...I think you are savvy enough to figure that out (since you found my formspring page!) -

Good question. Honestly, many times it is an ongoing struggle. If I'm not a 100% sure if its just me speaking louder than God's voice, then I'd wait it out before I make any moves. I will trust that if it is God, He will confirm it during the time I spend with Him, focused on Him. If my decisions align and does not contradict with His character and what He says regarding the position of my heart, then that's the green light for me.
