I may be over-evaluating here, partially because I'm bored and partially because I really find this a FUCKING stupid matter, but honestly, people these days use the word 'slut' like it's oxygen. In, out, in, out, in, out. Here, there and everywhere. The amount of times I've heard someone say 'ugh, she's such a slut' makes me want to regurgitate last year's dinner.
'Slut' is not someone who has a short skirt. 'Slut' is not someone who hooked up with their boyfriend. 'Slut' is not someone who called you a bitch. 'Slut' is not someone who had sex with their boyfriend. 'Slut' is not someone who wears too much make up. 'Slut' is not someone who had a fight with their friend. 'Slut' is not someone who texts two boys at once. For God's mother fucking sake people, where did the real definition of slut disappear to? 'Slut' is a derogatory term. It's a harsh word when NOT used wisely. The difference between the two examples of what society labels as "sluts" is that one has self respect, the other does not. No one should be called a slut anyway, especially when the name "slut" is a purely judgemental and stereotypical one, and no one really knows the real story behind it all, which is pretty much always the case.
A real slut, according to the beloved Urban Dictionary is as defined: "A woman/girl who will fuck anything without discretion. Specifically used in the south, Western states: Sluts were and even today are described as a woman with little to NO self-Esteem that will fuck a blackman, dog or anything disgusting/nasty! A slut has sex with people for money, for anything. Does not love the person they fuck, care or bother with them afterwards."
I mean, I don't even know the Rachel Armstrong chick, but has she performed the above? If so, erase this whole paragraph from your memory and continue calling her a slut. You got the obligation. If not, then I believe I have the obligation to tell you that you're wrong, you're incorrect, and nobody cares.
