Formspring question of the day
asked by FormspringI would love to learn to speak Japanese and French.
I've taken both languages as classes in high school and college - but still can't form sentences >.<
My husband speaks japanese and his mom speaks japanese almost exclusively. I would love to be able to converse with her. And now that I'm about to have a baby, I'd love to be able to teach my child japanese, though s/he would probably pick it up a lot faster than I would. It would also be nice to be able to read manga (not translated to english).
French is just a beautiful sounding language to me. Romantic and lovely. -
I've traveled to the places: United States, Canada, France, Japan, Korea, Philippines

Serious answer: 1. A machete 2. Iodine 3. A flintstone (not in any way related to the popular cartoon).
Ridiculous answer: 1. neverending cheeseburger producing magic box 2. my iPhone with unlimited battery life 3. a bottomless thing of ice cold Fresca -
There was this book about an alligator in the sewer and as a baby it became the pet of a family. There was some strawberry ice cream involved. I don't remember the title. It had wonderful illustrations. Especially the pink strawberry ice cream. If a picture could make me salivate - it was this. Is that a book that exists? Or is it imaginary. I'm leaning more towards the imaginary and fuzzy memory.
So, for something real - my sister read me a few books and I have the fondest memories of those times. The two books that are still my a couple of my favorite today are: The Ordinary Princess by M. M. Kaye and A Wrinkle In Time by Madeleine L'Engle. -
I have not broken any bones...yet. I think I fractured my collarbone when I was 5 by jumping on the bed. Mom was angry and frightened. I have no memory of the incident.

Hard question. I love the ocean - but I think that a private jet would suit my needs more. I'd love to be able to fly away to Paris or Tokyo at a moments notice. And it's hardly quick or easy to do that by boat. Also - the movie Dead Calm scared the shit out of me.

I loved Michael Jackson when Thriller came out - even though the video scared the shit out of me. Not the zombies - the wolf changing part. I think it was the bubbley looking skin that freaked me out. But I wanted a Thriller jacket so bad! I found a red jacket that had ridges at the shoulders and it was the closest I could come to a Thriller jacket. But really, I looked kind of lame. But those were the only years I was ever really into MJ.

Ideally, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to retire and move to France. Drink tiny cups of coffee and eat baguettes slathered in that wonderful french butter, wear barets, ride bicycles and learn the language.
HUNH HUNH HUNH, BAGUETTE! (That sound doesn't translate well in writing as it would if it were heard. Ah well.) -
I'd bring Lyndon. I am completely comfortable with Lyndon and being at my best and my worst in front of him. I can have smart, funny and serious discussions with him. He laughs at my jokes. He gets me. And I never grow tired of his crazy face.
That was more of a real answer. If I were to go completely fantasy and disregard all reality, I'd take Brandon Routh. But only the Brandon Routh from Superman Returns. -
Let me just preface this by saying that I have no regret or unhappiness with my life as it is right now. But if I could go back knowing what I know now, I probably would like to have bought a house in West Seattle or closer to Seattle. It's crazy that a commute would make someone want to time travel.

Easy. Both feetfuls of 'Big Toes' instead of both hands full of thumbs. Although, shopping for shoes might be a bitch and wearing flip flops would probably gross lots of people out. Including myself.

I would go to Tokyo, Japan and stay at the Park Hyatt with Lyndon. We would eat lots of sashimi and saba and snacks. We would take warm baths in our tiled hotel bathtub after doing water aerobics with oba-san. We would also go for drinks at midnight and listen to the bar band sing cheesy american music. Then, we would visit temples and tie our wishes and prayers on trees. We'd also visit a Kyudo club and watch them practice in uniform. We'd go to Akihabara to buy electronics and play video games and to Harajuku for some fashion shopping. Among lots of other things. I heart Japan!

I would rather be really cold. I don't do so well in the heat even though I sometimes like to be in it. I think I may be more likely to die faster in extreme heat than extreme cold. Or...maybe I'd die more comfortably in extreme cold.
