I am blessed with a supportive family ... I don't push myself and take it one day (or on bad days, one hour) at a time. I'm lucky in that I have a business where if I find that I just can't stand up (or at least not without passing out) one day then I can usually work it out so I can rest and at least play with my girls while sitting or laying down (on bad "POTS" days you'll frequently find me laying on a blanket under a fort with the girls, LOL) - and then do my work while resting at night. :) I remind myself constantly that there are ups and downs with the illness and in the darkest bad spells remember that I've felt that awful before and then the flare up lifts and I'm able to enjoy a good spell again. It's really made me feel so much more blessed in life because I never take a single moment for granted anymore. Being well enough to jump on the bed with my girls or take them to the park and actually play *with* them is an absolute gift and when I receive that gift in the form of a "good spell" with my illness, I grab it and take fullest advantage! :)

Hi, Julie! Yes, they work with Elements 7 (they are compabitle with PSE 6-10) and yes, they work with any photo, although the results wiill depend on the quality of the image you begin with (although they are miracle workers in many cases, they can't turn an iPhone shot into the quality of a pro photo taken with a DSLR and great lens). Hope that helps!

It just depends on how advanced you would like to become ... if it's in your budget to allow it I would recommend starting with Photoshop (CS5 is the most current version), otherwise many are happy and love Elements (10 is the newest version).

I have a new blog feature called "What's In My Bag" with all my gear recommendations ... don't forget that it's not just the camera that makes a good photo! :) http://paintthemoon.net/blog/2012/02/bag-annie-manning-paint-moon-photography-photoshop-actions/

A prime lens is a non-zooming or fixed focal length lens. :) My favorite is the 85mm lens.

Thank you! Yes, I have an action in the Miracle Makeover set called Sparkle (or Twinkle) Eyes. There is also an all in one retouching action in the Picture Perfect Mega Set that includes several eye brightening/popping layers. :) It's also very important to get your focus on the eyes and have great lighting ... I'll have a two part series coming to the blog soon all about accomplishing this, and then finishing the image in Photoshop or Elements with eye action. :)

Hi! I'm in the Pacific Northwest. I have POTS ... postural orthostatic tachycardia, it's basically a broken autonomic nervous system. But it doesn't define me and I'm very blessed in my life so I try to take it one day at a time and not dwell on the negative. Yes, you are welcome to ask Photoshop questions ... you can also do so on my Facebook wall, as I have a wonderful community of photographers there and am there daily helping others however I can. :) Thank you for the kind words - they are much appreciated! Oh, thank you so much! It's midnight and I am sitting here with many hours of work ahead of me still and you just totally made my night and made me smile. :)

Yes, most certainly - that is the end goal always. :) Most of my customers are professional photographers as I am myself and having the highest quality print work possibile is of the utmost importance.

Yep ... tripod and a remote. Setting your focus point on a family member before getting into position and making sure your aperture is set so your depth of field isn't too shallow in order to get everyone in focus. :)

Thank you! You can simply save them to a CD/DVD or external hard drive to install onto your second machine. :)

Thank you so much for the very kind words - i appreciate it! :) I shoot with a Nikon D700 and I'm a lens hoarder so I won't list them all, but my favorite two for 80% use are my 85mm 1.4G and 35mm 1.4G.

I use and love Photoshop CS5. :)

I'm going to have a whole series of studio features on my site starting next where I'll cover all that! :) And thank you so much for the kind words ... glad you are enjoying them! :)

I shoot mostly with primes ... my favorite being the 85mm 1.4G - it's my baby and rarely comes off the camera. :) When it does come off I also love my 24-70mm 2.8, my 105mm 2.8 macro and the little nifty fifty 1.4G. The next lens which is on order and I'm anxiously awaiting now is the 35mm 1.4G ... very excited about this one. :) Whatever glass you buy, you'll just love your D700!! How exciting!

I am a diehard Photoshop lover and user. I do have Lightroom too, but I only use it for very minor adjustments such as white balance when needed, and then the rest is done in Photoshop. Lightroom is basically there to be my photo organizer and cataloger. :)
