Some of it is. It's a mix of experience, imagination influenced by experience, and research (tons of it). Whatever experience I do put in PBN it is often very indirect. I cannot think of a single scene, for example, that was taken directly from something that happened to me. However, a lot of the character's struggles and frustrations are things I struggle with and have frustrations over, applied to an altered situation with views and reactions to match the individual character rather than my own.
Though each of the characters is in some ways representative of certain parts of my personality or ideals I have, none of them are truly me :) That would probably be pretty boring to read haha. -
Not recently that I can recall lol. But music does effect me a ridiculous amount, so it wouldn't surprise me if I have I suppose!

Your english is perfect! :) I use graphite powder on bristol paper, a shammy, blending stumps, and good old mechanical pencil for areas of focus. I also use a rubber eraser for softer areas of highlight and a regular eraser for harsher highlights.

The panels are roughed in by hand, but since working with graphite powder is so messy I use photoshop to make them nice and neat. Speech bubbles and text are also done in photoshop :) My handwriting is horrible. Lol.

Ahhh, I like to try and be ambiguous about where my stories take place, so usually they're kind of made up. But PBN is sort of taking place in an imaginary combination of Annapolis, rural Westminster and Ellicott City in Maryland. Three cities from my childhood :] Mika lives in the Annapolis/Ellicott City combo, and later on goes to my childhood imagination version of Westminster, haha.
