time management. paying attention. answering emails. not substituting cigarettes, tea, coffee, gum, bacon and/or ice cream for meals.

oh jeez i'm so glad for you! I was really happy to read this. Thanks for dropping a line, and I hope you're happy and healthy in the new year.
-
never seen roswell, always meant to. i'll opine on the last ep. of angel once i have rewatched it.
-
I haven't watched it in a really long time, ngl -- I hardly remember what happens. I love the whole last season, though. It totally makes up for how bad the one before it is.
Have you ever seen Freaks and Geeks? -
I don't think knitting is difficult, but I've been doing it for a really long time -- I was taught in elementary school. I also really love being able to make my own clothes -- I'm picky and I don't fit men's sizes anyway and this way I still get to have sweaters I like. I also like to have something to do with my hands so I can concentrate on other stuff -- like a movie or my grocery shopping. If you want to learn, you can probably get instruction at either a nearby craft/yarn store or at a youth centre, or even youtube. It's a really cool feeling to make your own stuff and to be able to wear it.
Currently on my audio rotation: tmg, Diane Cluck (!!!), Girlyman, Lady Gaga.
I've been watching: the last season of Angel (and it makes me happy that you've seen Buffy! yay buffyfans) and Dollhouse. I just watched the first disc of Life on Mars. There's also a bunch of sort of meh stuff that I watch so I have something to entertain my eyes while I knit.
And I don't really read anymore, but when I do I like literary fiction (especially, for w/e reason, post-colonial lit, hoo boy) and super-nerdy non-fiction about gender roles and also a lot of poetry. -
Knitting -- especially when I'm knitting something I've designed myself or something really intuitively and smoothly designed using good materials and tools.
My family and friends -- even when we aren't getting along.
Once More With Feeling. I'm including this because we're watching it right now. (And, Regina, if you haven't watch Buffy do it right now.)
Work.
Design work!
Learning things.
Good music/television/movies/books.
The cats and the puppy. -
Well, I woke up really cranky and then now I can't find something I need, and yesterday was wretched, so, uh no. But probably I will be by tomorrow.
-
I had my ears pierced at like twelve (lol @ me trying to fit in) but they're gone and I don't want any piercings. As for tattoos, I want a linedrawing of a fingertrap on my left wrist, because i am a giant Mountain Goats nerd with issues, but due to money issues it probably won't plausibly happen until the next time E. and i spend a serious amt of time together.
-
good god, no. i used to sort of love the proximity to the ocean but really most of them are too full of memories to go to, and what's the point of going alone?
(and if you give me a second i'll post a quote that shows you just how depressing life in RI is.) -
in terms of personal resolutions: i'd like to read more and try to get my brain back in shape (so more math, even if it is just sweater math, and I've decided that if I can make it through an abridged Golden Bough I've found in a reasonable time I may treat myself to a full set). i'd like to get up earlier and manage my time a little better. i'd like to meet some new people. i would like to learn to be a better teacher. i want to start listening to audiobooks, and i want to be more generous towards strangers.
in terms of the world around me and things i can't change: i want the health of a certain few people around me to improve, i want my friends and the people i care about to be successful in everything they do, and i would also like some world peace with that. -
I don't know. Have a few:
E. has existed.
John Darnielle hugged me and didn't mind that I cried on him despite not even shaking hands because of his health this tour. (He's also existed.)
My boss picked me from the sky to work in her store. -
This is a statement with a question at the end of it?
(But in seriousness, yes I do. If you want to know more or to talk to me on the subject I'm pretty casual about it, but since i've been doing ok lately and i've dropped out of therapy yet again it hasn't come up on the blog much.) -
i would wake up either early or late. there would already be bacon. the house would be warm and the dog would be sleepy and just want to sit on the couch with me. i'd either have things to do all day or nothing to do at all, and I'd been in the middle of a sweater for me and it would be made out of Madeline Tosh.
BOY KNOWS WHAT HE WANTS. -
When it comes to fibercraft, I spin? But I can only crochet as it relates to knitting (so cast ons, offs, and steeks) and I don't weave or tat (I wish I did, shit is awesome). I don't do any papercraft (scrapbooking, stamping, whatever). I can't think of any other crafts, really? am I skipping over something?
(and I should learn to crochet so I can help people at work, but I don't have the time or even a real desire to. booo me.)
