Not at all! We're very sorry to have come across this way. The thing is, Fernweh is a magazine. They're sharing articles, diys, photography, and stories. Fernweh is meant for those sort of lovely-life posts because that's what they're about. The authors over at Fernweh are amazing girls, too. At AOU, we had begun to realize a pattern. One blogger would post about their life, but only the good parts. Another blogger would see these posts and think they didn't measure up. So this second blogger would stress about it and begin to write only about the good things in their life. Then a third blogger would see both of these blogger's posts and feel like they didn't have a good enough life; they would begin to do the same thing everyone else was doing: posting only the good. This rotation would keep going, repeating itself, hitting every blogger in the process. This would bring on a form of complete dissatisfaction with our own lives, which cannot possibly be good. At AOU, we wanted to show people that their lives are wonderful and just as good as the other bloggers. We weren't trying to be rude, mean, or demeaning to anyone else in the process. We never meant to say that anyone wasn't being "real' enough or "honest" enough. We only wanted to expose the impurities of life to show those who were in the same spot of dissatisfaction as we were, that their life IS wonderful. There are bloggers out there who are very real and very honesty. We aren't saying everyone keeps their life under a curtain. We only wanted to stop the "my life will never measure up," statement. Because, really? It already does. Your life is worth sharing.

Not yet. We're planning on maybe opening admissions/guest posts in two or three months. We'll see how things go.

Thanks! The majority of the actual idea was formed by Megan and Jocee. Jocee's main idea was posting about memories. Megan's was about life from people around the US/world. The two ideas sort of merged together and we got An Ordinary Utopia. I think the actual IDEA for real life came from reading posts around the blogging world, and just feeling that sense of perfectness that wasn't anywhere near real
