      What led you to atheism? Do you have any book or movie recommendations? Kind of funny since it was supposed to be a mockumentary, but the movie Religulous is what really did it for me :)

      Haha, love Bill Maher! I think it was Ann Coulter that said something to the effect of....learn about the opposition to see how firmly you stand in your own beliefs (or non-beliefs, in this case). It was more a reference to politics, as that is her arena, but you can apply this to so many things in life. Not to mention, when you make a decision like this, you want to be informed. Not to prove anything to anyone but yourself. It helps in two crucial ways: (1) you don't want to seem ignorant and make uninformed decisions, and (2) it helps us understand different perspectives so we can practice tolerance.

      I definitely took the time to try to understand and read about religion from the perspective of a believer. That's as simple as actually reading the religious literature. Then I look at things from a logical perspective- how can it be so prevalent? History, psychology, anthropology and astrology (yes, the sky) help to give it a "human" explanation. It doesn't have to be about science, per say. There's a lot more to it than that. And last, and perhaps most importantly, I just don't feel it. Religion is about faith and faith is a feeling. It's just not there for me.

      I like the documentary Zeitgeist, part 1. It's free and you can watch it online. Again, don't take things at face-value. Ask your own questions and do your own research from reliable sources. I also love Richard Dawkins. He has a book called "The God Delusion" that highlights some really important questions. And he has a YouTube channel too! Christopher Hitchens is another good one!
