Definitely Burdastyle.com. Some of the PDF patterns are even free and we can check out projects made by other people to learn more before starting our own project. The community is also very helpful :)

I love living here. Japanese people is the nicest and the most polite people I've ever met. They are friendly but still keeping a distance, which works well for me as I'm not comfortable when people try to get too close to me.

I'm trying to learn but I guess I'm kinda lazy so I still can't read nor speak Japanese. However, my son is very good in Japanese, sometimes even better than my husband. I guess it is because he started to learn Japanese when he's still very young :)

Thank you! I really don't know how to answer that, I guess I just do what I can do :)

To be honest, I rarely look at the 'level' of the pattern. If I want to make it, I will just go ahead. I look up in the internet or books if I find any difficulty in the process. Sometimes I did get stuck and make my own way. Sometimes it ended with disaster. But you will never know until you try :) Good luck!

I'm ashamed to say that I store them in a used cardboard box under my table -_-

I would say that living in here is relatively expensive compared to some places. But if you only want to go here for vacation, I'm sure there are lots of ways to suppress the budget. There are a lot of cheap hotels and ryokans, passes for unlimited transportation (for a certain time), and of course onigiri and instant ramen :)

I prefer to be good in cooking because then I can make food for daily meals. It'll be more useful than being good at baking cakes and such. Unfortunately I'm neither good at both T.T

It's pronounced something like 'see-drah'. But in Japan, he's called Shidora :)

Oh thank you, but I don't think my photography skill is that good, I just use the automatic setting most of the time. From the three of them I guess I like sewing the most, illustrating and photography are tools to help me making good visual presentation.

This is hard to answer because I really like it here! But my least favourite thing is probably the language. It's actually okay to go places or shopping without knowing the language, but when it comes to formal letters from city council or school, I really have to rely on my husband. He's not complaining though, but I wish I can learn the language quicker so he doesn't have to do everything.

I'm so glad that you find it easy! I'm always worried that the instructions are not very clear. Yes, I'm planning to make more tutorials, some people have asked for tissue pouch and bag tutorials, so those might be what I'm going to do next. Thank you!

You really love asking me questions, don't you? P

Thank you. I use CorelDraw, a vector program similar to Adobe Illustrator to make them. No formal training, I just learned it by myself. Several years ago, I used to make several illustrations for some magazines. You can se it in my flickr set: http://www.flickr.com/photos/verypurpleperson/sets/72157615570070392/
Since then, I haven't drawn for a while, so making the diagrams was very refreshing. -
Glad that you agree that it is a cool lovely beetle! ^.^
About sewing, no, it's not always easy. And it gets more difficult because sometimes I'm such a freak. When I sew the hem of a skirt and suddenly the machine run out of thread in the middle of sewing, I always unpick the whole stitch and start all over again. I hate starting from the middle (`_´)
I often find difficulties when sewing something I'm not familiar to, like sewing fly zipper on pants or jacket collar etc. But I like trying them out, confident that eventually I will find a way to do it (google is my best friend).
So yes, it is something that keep improving. Don't worry about my neat sewing, maybe what you saw is something that I've unpicked twice or thrice (^.^) -
We went to Indonesia last summer, and actually it was really tiring because we had to go to several cities to meet the whole family. But I'm not very close to my mother, so I don't find it that hard. Even when I was in Indonesia, my parent lived in different city so we didn't meet really often.

You don't think it's cute? Awww you're breaking its heart (if it has one at all)! Anyway the larvae can hardly be called a pet at all, as it mainly lives buried in soil and can only be seen when it was dug out for the soil change. But if everything goes well, it will go into a metamorphosis mode and turned into this cool creature! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hercules_beetle) The adult beetle can reach 18 cm in length. Isn't it cool? Yes? Yes?
