See-o-ahtlah-ma-kas-kay is the name of the raccoon in the Aztec language and means “she who talks with spirits”, referring to a mythical raccoon animal spirit. It is taken out of Virginia C. Holmgren’s great book “Raccoons: In History, Folklore & Today''s Backyards”.

I had the basic idea for a comic with some sort of code in it in my idea document for a long time. I started to actually work on it when I came to the conclusion that all word bubbles should be coded. Then it was quite some work to come up with the codes, especially the crosswords puzzle. I took the joke about the Marvin newspaper comic strip as the basis of the comic since that was the best fitting one that was available in my idea document in my opinion.

Although Rainbow Dash has some of the best moments in the series, my favorite pony is Fluttershy, shortly in front of Twilight Sparkle.

Yes. I blogged about “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” on “Sandra and Woo” for the first time on 1 March ( http://www.sandraandwoo.com/2011/03/01/the-maretrix/ ) and then again on 28 March ( http://www.sandraandwoo.com/2011/03/28/join-the-herd/ ) and 3 July ( http://www.sandraandwoo.com/2011/07/03/my-little-wallpaper/ ).

I knew from the beginning that most our readers will be US-Americans since that’s the largest market for webcomics. At the moment a bit more than 50% of our readers are from the US.

I choose to not give an explanation for it.

Yes. -
The quality of the source material is not particularly important for a series or movie based on it. The great series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is based on horribly kitchy pink toys for little girls and the bad movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is based on one of the best computer games ever.

There will only be a Sandra and Woo collection if a serious publisher will do it who gets it into bookstores, Amazon.com, etc.

I haven't translated it at all. The visitor numbers of our German site are so low that it just wasn't worth the effort.

I don’t think this needs a serious answer.

There was a similar question some time ago, so I just copy my answer:
Raccoons are my favorite animal. For example I have created an extensive German website at http://www.lotor.de/ about them. Therefore I knew from the beginning that Sandra’s animal companion had to be a raccoon. Also you can’t really use dogs, cats and tigers anymore for that role. Raccoons look very cute, of course, but I like them for many different reasons. They are often underestimated, but in reality they are one of the most successful mammals on earth. I also like their super sensitive paws. They are extremely soft compared to the paws of other animals if you touch them, although they walk on them all the time. Although they prefer a relaxed way of life they are curious and clever. -

II think the computer game Grim Fandango and the comic Zita the Spacegirl could work very well as a movie. But there are certainly many others. After all, the quality of the book/game/etc. is only one aspect whether the movie becomes good or not.

Sandra and Woo is not a nature documentary. There have also been negative portrayals of raccoons.

It is always hard to come up with good ideas. It’s not exactly “hard work”, but it requires a lot of thinking and then persistent work on improving the basic ideas.

VII = near religious dedication
VIII = very good game
IX = 4th most favorite game (1st FFV VII, 2nd Planescape: Torment, 3rd Ocarina of Time)
X = very good game
X-2 = horrible
XII = meh
Advent Children = cool effects, lousy story
Haven’t played the other games.

Oliver Knörzer’s Bio
I’m the writer of the webcomic Sandra and Woo.
I may NOT answer generic questions that have nothing to do with Sandra and Woo or Gaia.
