probably the sense of touch. without touch you just wouldn't feel people poking at you or something like that. the rest are all important and some are connected so losing one would most likely impact others. (ie losing smell would impact taste)

i think that's a personal choice. for me, no, i don't enjoy watching the news, i tend to be unaware of crap going on around me until someone (usually my boyfriend) fills me in on what's going on where. its probably a bad idea but i prefer to be blissfully unaware.
