no i think the olympus om-1O is perfect for beginners really! because all you have to install manually is iso and aperture. and i find it easier to understand the mechanics through an analog camera.

i used to work as a lab assistant-assistant at a geolab. i cant say photography is a job for me though, i just do it as a hobby. it would be nice to call it my job someday :)

i learned the technique from one of ingrid moras books, and then i just experimented an made up my own. it's hard to explain the technique, but imagine you have a wire, and on one end you have some beads, and then you thread the other end of the wire through the beads from the other side, and then you pull the ends in each direction until it is tight and continue that way. if that makes any sense...

oh, that polar bear was at an animal park/zoo in denmark! so it wasn't wild :) but i have lived on svalbard for three years, and there where definitely polar bears there. school closed one day because there were polar bear tracks on the play ground, and the first polar bear i saw was out on the fjord just outside of town.

the town by our summerhouse, ebeltoft, has some really nice second hand stores, and i've been lucky to find some really fun and cheap cameras there. this summer i bought a minolta hi-matic 9, an olympus mju ii and a zeiss ikon nettar. i recommend looking in second hand stores in smaller towns, i feel you have a bigger chance of finding something good there before everyone else, unlike in larger cities.

hmm, i don't know that many. but i love sophie calle's books! not just her work, but also the layout of the book, it's so inspiring all of it. i dream of making a book like that one day.

i'm sorry! both to you and myself. i just haven't had the heart to put up some of my photos because i always feel they are unfinished. but i hope i will upload some more soon, even though my internet here at our summerhouse is rather limited. but i'll try! it really motivates me all the nice comments i recieve.

for the year i lived in the us, my favorite courses were art i and ii. but at my high school in norway art wasn't a subject there, so all i had was science subjects and language and history. i did like senior history though (newer history). i didn't have english as a subject other than the english course i had in the us.

no, i just learned by trying. but i've just finished a 6 month photography course at what in scandinavia is called a folk high school, where you choose a certain course and live at the school while studying it, but don't have any exams. there i got to try many more things photography wise and learned a lot.
