I am going to tell you right now there is no possible way I could just pick one book. I love books. BOOKS! I love them so much! I get very excited about the fact that there are several. Every time I put a new book in my bookshelf I get really weird about it. I light candles. There's a ritual. Sometimes drums.
How about this-
Nonfiction: Hero with a Thousand Faces, Joseph Campbell. Masks of God series is better if you don't want to get bogged down in the Hero's Journey.
Fantasy: Harry Potter, JK Rowling.
Scifi: Ender's Game, Orson Scott Card
Young Adult: Firegold, Dia Calhoun
Picture Book: The Girl Who Loved Wild Horses, Paul Goble
Comic: Arzach, Moebius
Narrative Poem: The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrun, JRR Tolkien's rendition of the Volsunga saga.

I've been working on a page! I've had very little time in the evenings to work on it (maybe like a half hour each night? ugh!) So I've been picking away at inking it for the last week or so. Once I get to color things should go a bit faster..So the answer is...as soon as I finish this dang page.

Cealdian is on hiatus right now so not sure when the next update will be. Eliz does not have a bracelet! Because she is a girl :P -
The site was run by a free hosting guy. It's down either because he didn't like the idea of a hiatus, or because he just didn't want to pay anymore. Either way, I've never liked being hosted by other people because things like this happen and they don't resolve quickly, so I'm gonna have a chat with him, get my domain and make Cealdian the pretty wordpress site it deserves.

It starts out as one of those rune fonts from Dafont that I then completely deform and add and remove bits from. I have bits and pieces of the language worked out but it's not entirely integral to the story so it's not all there yet :d. But the parts that are up there can be roughly translated to "We'll drive them towards the valley and trap them against the crest." on the one page and then "keep clear of the forest" on the next.

Alls I can say is my experience at RISD was really great. It's super tough, and a lot of work. But you will learn a TON and make some great connections as well. If you're really serious about being a professional artist, they're definitely the way to go, methinks.

Both of my stories have a beginning, middle and end, so yes, they have a set length. Sort of. Cealdian is definitely going to be four longer books of about 12-15 chapters each. Bird Boy is maybe 6 or seven 50 or so page volumes.
So in other words, don't worry, they won't end anytime soon :P -
Cealdian is a verb in Anglo-Saxon meaning "to become cold."
It was a name I picked up while perusing an Old English dictionary...because I do that sort of thing. -
