I like to use the excuse "I'm a wedding photographer - I'm allowed to look at dresses" but I totally have a ton of dresses picked out.

      This is my recent favorite:

to feel bridal. Or this one:

with a ton of flowers and braids in my messy hippy hair.

      I LOVE wedding dresses.

I'm super not techy so I'm not sure if there are settings beyond this - I use back button focusing, the single focus point, and continuous focusing. Anything beyond this would be... default?

I want to do more, but the D90 video quality isn't so great, there's no autofocus, and Josh isn't crazy about helping me make them, soooooooooooooo it rarely happens. :)

You have to match the foundation to your skin and I think there's some science to it that I never figured out when I'm standing in stores. I try to figure out if it matches my skin, but when I put it on at home, I always realize it's the wrong color. BTW - Cover GIrl tends to be really pink. Maybelline has matched my skin better, but I've really wanted to try Maybelline Dream Airfoam after seeing this review:

But they only had super dark colors when I was at the story the other day. SO! Picking a color - you might do it wrong. Thankfully, most drug stores have really awesome return policies if you buy the wrong thing:

They ALSO have the best sales (every other week a different brand of cosmetics are buy one get one 50% and if you have access to a Sunday paper, there are usually coupons for buy one get one free make up around). I'm mentioning coupons because make-up is expensive. Drug store foundation is around $13 and it feels kind of dumb to spend that much on a tiny bit of make up.

I actually don't use concealer (she talks about a drugstore concealer in the video, btw), but I DO always use a primer because it makes foundation go on smoother. I don't think I'd use one with Dream Airfoam, though, because it's so light.

Get on Youtube and look up any terms that might've confused you - there is SO much start up videos for make up available online. :)

"Fire and Ice" is on instant play right now! It's a Ralph Bakshi cartoon from 1983. There are a ton of gratuitous close up shots of crotches, overly sexed up scenes, and violence. From what I can tell, it's in the same league as "Heavy Metal," but I haven't seen that.

OH! Another one - I saw this when I was really young and I recently rewatched it and it's so amazing. It's a French 1970s psychedelic movie called "Fantastic Planet." If it's not available for instant play, it's honestly worth bumping up in your queue.

I'm totally like... guessing right now, but I think my aperture is about f/11 and my shutter speed is 1/15th... or slightly slower. I mix it up as I shoot - I do direct flash and I do off camera lights. My goal is to use as much ambient as possible because I never want to recreate the mood of the dance floor - I want the photos to feel and look the way the dance floor felt to them.

The Good Hotel. Apparently, it's in the bad area of town, but the hotel and rooms are completely cute.

We mostly did touristy things. I like the sea lions especially. :)

I shoot entire sessions with just one lens and I do run around a lot. :) My last session I actually shot entirely with the 35mm f/1.4.

I need to have a 70-200 for weddings for churches, but if I can get close and just use a 50 or 85, I totally will.
