Okay, we had a few people asking about this one. The truth of the matter is that we have ALMOST had a date and venue twice and have had Murphy's Law strike HARD both times. Because of that, we have gone back to the drawing board again and are scrambling VERY quickly to give you the best Nerdapalooza 2012 we can.
It may end up being a little scaled back from last year, but we have BIG plans for 2013. BIG plans. -
Here is a complete list of all the amazing artists from the 2011 gallery!
Bianca Roman-Stumpff, Jon Jacobs, Audrey Zindler, Kristin Frenzel, Henry Schreiber, Danielle Soloud, Benjamin Sawinski, Samuel Alexander, Anna Maiya Young Kelland, Dré Greppi, Jessi Jess, John Hex Carter, Ian Santos, Trevon Jakaar Coleman, Max Acree, Elsa Morales, Daniel Hay, Jen Hersey -
We're looking to start accepting submissions real soon, actually. We're working on locking in a date and a venue. Once we have to announce, we're expecting to open the floodgates so people can once again apply at our online musician application! Thank YOU! :)

This isn't really the best way to ask for stuff like this. For cross-promotional requests, you should email Hex at hex@nerdapalooza.org

This is definitely a case by case basis. Depending on how small you are, if there's no real fan demand for you then, sadly, the answer will be that you may not have a chance. However, that is the whole reason why we have the Nerdapalooza Open mic. It's kind of the chance that musicians have to show off their skills and allow us to see how well a fit you are with Nerdapalooza. Either way, once we have our performer application forms public, still send one in! At least you'll be on our radar!

Woah, that's a lot of bands to suggest. Some are brand new to us and some have been considered in the past. I'll definitely keep those in mind and pass them along to the rest of Team Nerdapalooza. And yes, there WILL be a 2011 CD :)
-
With the past pattern, it probably won't be until 2012 that we'll have a secure date to announce.
-
Not really, however, if you email hex@nerdapalooza.org and ask for them, he'll probably mail you some!
-
THAT sadly will not be happening. We had a lot of footage but no one lined up to do the official filming of it.

It's good to know that Dj RoboRob was so well received! The committee will definitely take this reception into consideration for next year. I don't know if a nightly rave is possible, but we'll keep it mind.

It was sheer luck to get such a superstar to introduce Schaffer this year. We'll see what we can do to get someone else if that's what everyone wants. ;)
-
Yes it will be returning and expanding next year! It was a true success!
-
Let's just say that we have a few more aces still up our sleeves ;)
-
This will DEFINITELY be taken into consideration when selecting venues in future years, as will a variety of food and drink vendors.
-
It's TONIGHT!! Doors open at 6 PM!

Wow lots of questions! To clear up any and all pre-party questions:
This year it is NOT at A Comic Shop but at the venue, the Marriott.
It very well may go till 3 AM.
There is a ZERO-TOLERANCE policy for any outside drinks though it sounds like the venue will have a bar after we run out of beer.
Orlando Brewing is supplying two kegs, so the rate at which that runs out depends on how many people show up. Same with the pizza supply. -
The only thing to really keep in mind is that this IS a family friendly event. Costumes are allowed and encouraged just please keep them away from the realms of obscene and offensive.

Under the age of 10 can get in to Nerdapalooza for free with a paid adult.
