So, with the release of google+, the church will have yet another social network to consider in communicating. As a ministry, how do you properly manage which social platforms are best and how do you determine which online tools you use personally?
Currently, our synod has chosen to use Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. We started with Twitter. It was simple enough and we started with just sharing links. It has slowly grown to have more interactivity. We followed with Facebook and it's half a billion people. YouTube we use mostly as a video sharing site with links on the others.
I am actually excited and have applied for entity status with Google+. Most exciting to me is not the social platform, rather I am looking forward to the work collaboration tools. Our employees are spread across the state. Being able to use the Huddle at synod events for the staff circle... hangouts for committee meetings... etc.
