Not sure if there's such site than W3CSchool. It's more simple to search the function you need online.

You don't need any tips if you have enough love and passion on the thing you want to do, if you can't do it well, you don't love it enough. And forget about competition, the only one is competing is yourself.

I didn't read any books for Javascript and CSS, there's many many resource on internet you can read, like A List Apart, w3schools, Dive Into HTML 5, etc... And there's one book (I didn't buy it yet) maybe worth to read: HTML5 for Web Designers - http://books.alistapart.com/
And I am not a professional at all, I have to refer to all these resources (like w3school examples) when I write code. -
Nope, I should make one? Should I?

I just wonder, would it be more godsend if cloudapp or droplr be open-sourced?
-
idzr is just a hobby. Guess my code is not good enough to be open source, there are many talented programmers out there which could do a better job.

It is hard to say what a mistake in icon design, but sometimes, they are missing "fun" and "concept".
-
Macristocracy maybe. Personally prefer something kinda a community like Dribbble and FFFFound.
-
I think yes. By the way, there are many similar service out there, why choose idzr?
