I'd go back to days of the first explorers of the west. I think it's totally amazing at one point... we had no idea what was out there. Wish I could find something no one has ever found before.

As far as influential I'd have to go with Elliot Smith.
I hope I'm not being old fashioned, but Elliot Smith was around before him, and I actually think that Conor is really influenced Elliot Smith. His vocal style is a bit different, but he is definitely influenced by Elliot Smith as are a lot of singer / songwriter types nowadays.
I could not say for certain whether or not one is more artistic ( I hate to be so diplomatic ) but I'd say that Elliot Smith just strikes a tune with me, for some reason catches my ear, I'm more in tune with how his music is sweet, yet sad at the same time. He really was cut from a different grain. -
Pirates, hands down, although 1 on 1 Ninja would win, I assume the pirates will outnumber a few ninjas.

right now I'm most excited to get to digest a lot of new music. I can't stop listening to the Morning Bender's new album Big Echo. It's going to be huge for them, and they totally deserve it, the album is full of great music.

I'm not sure I'd pick out one person, but a group of people. People that inspire me, are those that follow their dreams and creatively seek their goals. It's inspiring to watch people that can sync their life with those kinds of goals. Do what you love and you'll love what you do.
