Only had a few jobs, but probably Burger King. Long hours, over-worked and a few twatty workmates. In general it wasn't too bad though, got free food and the hours were really flexible. Back when I was 16.

It used to probably be putting both legs behind my head or standing on one leg and putting the other behind my head.

      Too fat now.

I always find these hard to pinpoint, as I've really had a lot of great ones. They tend to be ones where it carries on the morning after/engulfs a whole weekend. More often than not it'll be away from home too, so somewhere like Leeds, Manchester or London.

Total cop-out answer really. I went over some of the best nights out in the question I answered about the last decade!

A lodge somewhere in snowy Canada would be ace. Somewhere with great views, but still at least relatively close to civilisation.

Either that or a beach-side property somewhere baking warm.

Failing that even, a big ranch building for me and all my mates to live in and throw massive parties all the time.

      Ever? Or just this birthday?

Ever would probably be the Johnny Cash tribute band tickets I got last year off Krissi. Ended up going with a mate, but it was a really cool and memorable night. Either that or getting a laptop for my 21st birthday, that's easily the biggest birthday gift I've ever received.

This birthday it'd be the walking stick (which was a joke, but has proved useful round the house) and custom-designed Converse off of Danny. One shoe has a big photo of me, some Stars of David and Jack Nicholson. The other side has my mum's face getting shot by a rocket ship, Space Invaders style and my name plastered all over them.

It'd never really end, there's always some twats knocking about who are just a bit mental or cunty.

I think getting rid of all religion would help a fair bit. Well, if there was a way to magic it so religion had never existed - obviously if you just told all these nutjobs that they couldn't be part of their cults anymore they'd go a bit spastic.

    10. murta

Both. Not a massive fan of either, but rice and peas is alright.

I absolutely loved my childhood. We didn't have much money as a family, but my parents have done an amazing job rising out of poverty and then raising 4 kids. They did everything they could to ensure we always had an amazing birthday, Christmas or just general ace time. I've loads of fond memories.

I grew up entirely in Derby and can only remember living in two houses here (we moved when I was about 10), although I'm told as a baby we lived in a shitty flat.

I've given up the majority of my childhood interests, simply because I can't physical do most of them anymore because of my shitty ankle. I used to love playing football, basketball, tennis and skateboarding. The one thing that has stuck with me (through into my professional life) has been computers. I've used them since I was a wee nipper tinkering with a ZX Spectrum, through to the Amiga 500 and then onto Windows based PCs. NEEERD.

I'm friends with a lot of people I went to secondary school with and occasional see my best friend from primary school. Very rarely I'll bump into people from when I was really young, but I'm generally shit with faces and names so forget a lot of people.

Good question. Not 100% next time I'm on in Leeds, but my lovely girl lives there, so it shouldn't be too long.

Leeds is one of two places I've ever properly considered moving to in the UK, the other being London. Since London's so spread out and a lot of the gig/club-goers are so apathetic and (at times, at least) up their own arses', I'd definitely put Leeds at number 1. So many ace people live there, there's practically always something to do and the pizza is amazing. The only thing that puts me off is the crime.

I'm not sure if things like cancer, racism etc. are a given and you're just supposed to put annoyances in.

      1) The sound (and sight in some cases) of people eating. I can't stand it, especially if they're a particularly noisy eater, chew with their mouth open or take ages to chew something. It frustrates and disgusts me no end.

      2) Mardy people. Cheer the fuck up yo, I've no room for Buzz Killingtons any more.

      3) Shit TV gameshows. So long Deal or No Deal, Goldenballs et al.

      4) Rudeness. Everyone can be guilty of it from time to time, but people who are flat out rude, ungrateful, selfish etc. and oblivious to the fact. Get out of your little bubble of self-assurance and realise how shit you can be.

      5) MINT. I fucking hate the taste and smell of mint, especially chewing gum. Any form of sweet mint (chocolate, Polos, Trebor, gum etc.) make me sick. The fact that chewing gum just exists to get chewed and then practically always stuck on something, eventually ending up coming into contact with someone's hair, skin or clothes. Horrible stuff. I don't mind mint sauce on lamb though. Or mojitos.

Songs (what came to mind, not all of them would make the cut if I reeeally thought about it):
      Half-Hearted Hero - Colder Weather
Home Grown - You're Not Alone
      Alexisonfire - Thrones
The Starting Line - Surprise, Surprise
The Used - On My Own
This Providence - To Kill This
City And Colour - Sometimes (I Wish)
      Underminded - Ya Bastah

Book: Dalton Trumbo's "Johnny Got His Gun". I've never actually read it all the way through, but I bought it years ago and know the storyline. I think it'd help me cope with being stranded. It was the book that was made into a film, which had clips used for Metallica's "One" music video.

My luxury item would possibly be a magnifying glass to make fire using the sun. Although if I ever learned to make fire myself that'd become kind of redundant. So otherwise...if it was a big island I'd have a BMX or something so I could get around quickly. If not...a fridge with some sort of solar generator.

Probably be in the Get Cape music video. I've been on MTV and stuff because of it and saw it playing in Top Shop on Oxford Street when I was Christmas shopping that year, so that was quite niffty. Even though I'm only very briefly in it!

I think I'll do all the standard 'cover my bases' first. If I could be rich and somebody else would find the cure in the near future (and I could donate money to cancer research) I'd definitely go for that.

If I knew that me being rich meant that a cure would never be found/wouldn't be found for 50 years or something, I'd go for the cure. Cancer runs in my family, on my mum's side at least. She lost both her parents and 2 brothers to it so far, so there's a fairly high chance that myself or one of my immediate family will get it, which would be a total shitter to say the least.

    17. murta

TV no doubt, I probably watch more stuff on my PC anyway and technically you could watch TV on a computer anyways. SHIT QUESTION.

I'm not sure if this means reliving a great moment or changing something I regret, so I'll answer both.

I'd definitely make sure I hadn't fucked my ankle up. That was about 9 years ago now and it's never going to get any better. It's obviously not the worst thing that could have happened, but it's impacted me and my life a lot.

Trying to think of the best thing from the last decade is a tough one. I actually went about 8 years without leaving the country, but in the last two years I've been abroad 6 or 7 times. The holiday in the Dominican Republic last year was pretty special and hopping around European countries this year has been great too. Other than that it's more than likely going to be a party/gig/festival of some sort. Highlights would be Leeds 2004, Reading 2004 and Download 2006, the Alexisonfire boat party and any number of house parties. A good chunk of my favourite nights out ever have been in Leeds actually and I think that'll continue as long as there's a good crowd living there. Probably overall though I'd say the weekend of my 21st birthday, really can't fault any of it. Great friends, booze, food, seaside, music, hijinx and hotels. Bang on.
