I don't use formspring. Except on these wonderful rare occasions.
-
If you go by the definition that the two are exclusive to one another.. yeah sure thing. Not sure if it's quite so black and white.

"The 1st rule of Fight Club is.. you do not talk about Fight Club.
The 2nd rule of Fight Club is.. you DO NOT talk about Fight Club." -
Honestly as cliched as it might seem, Spelunky, followed by some older games like Final Fight, Rick Dangerous, Snow Bros, Ghouls'n'Ghosts and a bunch of others.
-
I'm not.

A bank vault and then out again with a shitload of money (if I'm allowed 2 x teleports).
-
Hm.. As simple as it was, I loved Rick Dangerous, both the starting sequence and the actual first section of the game where the boulder rolled behind you.

The character is from a game called Space Barnacle and as far as I know it is actually meant to be a gun. I highly recommend you play it... if your into platformers that is: http://doomlaser.com/barnacle/

In Grade 3, I wasn't listening to the teacher (I was day dreaming) when he explained the rules of a multiple choice test. It was the first multiple choice test I'd ever had and frankly, I didn't have a clue what to do, so I circled the answers in a zig-zagging pattern.
Anyways, half way through correction, as we were doing other work, the teacher literally jumped out of his chair, yelling my name loudly and angrily and in no uncertain terms told me to go outside and do the test again. And I still didn't have a clue what to do, so I just circled random answers this time.
I think the teacher thought I was a little strange because earlier that day I was the only person in my class to score perfectly on a spelling test. -
Well.. I just figured GML was still like code to some degree I suppose, just simpler then C++. Honestly, if I manage to free up some time, I'll check it out.
I guess 33 just feels kindof dinosaur-aged compared to all these awesome devs out there that are 20 and below and making awesome shit. -
50 dollars. That doesn't sound too bad actually. Thought it was more expensive then that.

As far as other projects go.. just the usual really: I'm editing the big list of indie devs by removing the sections and making it one long list, which is a freakin' pain but it needs to be done I think. Devs switch between tools all the time, so pigeonholing them is kindof silly.
I've picked out around maybe 50 games so far for the next series of underrated indie games and have recorded around 30 or more videos. Planning on handling it differently to the 1st series though.
Not a lot else really. I'll be changing my tumblr a bit maybe, in terms of content and there's this huge youtube playlist I want to keep making called the A - Z of free indie games, featuring a shitload of videos of every cool free indie game I can think of. I started it but it's a pain in the arse to alphabetize and hardly a complete list. -
You'd be surprised at how much I actually don't keep up with the indie scene. I used to keep up with most of it, now I'm kind of out of touch with a lot of what goes on.
I look forward to the games that a lot of smaller developers release like I'd love to see Jonny Smeby finish off ROBMS and The World as a Fishbowl. There's this other small game that I enjoyed called Eyeball 3 that I included in the indie games you might have missed youtube series' by Sergio and I remember him mentioning at some point that he was working on another entry into that seires called Eyeball Trinity or something, which sounded cool. It'd be great to see TowerClimb finished also. -
I'd like to yes. GM has always appealed to me and I've heard a lot of positive things about it over the years, as far as being a good way to get your feet wet.
Time, however, is a big factor. I don't get much time on the internet as it is and that is taken up with updating the silly little projects that I currently have.
Aside from this I'm 33. I really feel like, if I was going to start learning, I should've started a long, long time ago, aside from the fact that I find the thought of learning code a little overwhelming. -
At present, the new version Planet Freeplay is currently at a standstill. I've pretty much finished editing the database of games I want to start the site with (probably half a year ago now or more), however the guy that codes the backend has many higher priorities than this and has to make a living. If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. If it's any consolation, I hope it does, since I have truckloads of ideas on how to improve the site.

Hmm.. I'm not sure. I try to just do my own thing and not do what everyone else is doing on youtube, which is why I don't pretend to be good at playing games and pressure myself into doing playthroughs, speedruns, LPs or whatever else. I do want to do some compilation videos at some point but they probably won't be of any of the videos I've currently uploaded, although as always they will be indie game related.
My biggest hurdle is really figuring out how the fuck to make a compilation video anyways, since all videos need to be the same resolution, frame rate, etc.. if anyone has any tips on this, I'd welcome them.
Steve’s Bio
I <3 indie games.
