Haha, this makes me laugh because, alas, I am not yet a grown up. Very little about my life/living situation has actually changed. *sigh* (And, technically, I am still a student too!)
-
Well, Nick and I are twitter-Sagan-bros, so that was obvious. UNLESS HE IS BLUFFING.
-
Because he is one of the coolest collections of organic molecules to ever walk this pale blue dot, that's why. Also, the cosmos is everything that ever was and ever will be. What's not to like?

This seems shaping up to be a very good year. An eventful one, at least, so far. But also wrought with uncertainty; but then again, the best things always are.

Since I solicited questions on Twitter 15 minutes ago, let's estimate that I reached a few hundred of my followers within that time, of which a smaller portion would even bother to click the link, and an even smaller proportion would ask a question. Therefore, the odds that you might be @GKokoris aren't exactly negligible, but you are probably not him, and he is the only one who may take me out to dinner in any non-platonic capacity. So, er, sorry! :)

I am the awkwardest when it comes to defining my favourite movies. I totally split everything into categories. Since I can't be bothered to explain the categories right now, though, I will list an assortment from various: The Star Wars saga, Synecdoche, New York, Adaptation, The Pursuit of Happyness, Sunshine. Oh, also most Disney and/or Pixar movies.
-
No. Because they make no sense. (This doesn't mean I am not prone to scares, though, sadly. Irrational human brain.)
-
I wish I knew what my real test was. Y'know, my cause? Also, where should I go, and how far should I search? What is it that I should try to understand?

No way, you never saw/don't remember Bravestarr?! Classic 80s heroic cartoon amazingness! The titular character was an INTERGALACTIC LAWMAN *swoon*. And he rode a horse which could turn bipedal and wield a SPACE BAZOOKA. What is not to love?
And look, this was the theme song, which basically tells you all you need to know: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaMo4k7iG7s -
Ooh, interesting. Well, let's assume that 'beneficial impact' can go into negatives, and assess each accordingly.
I know that there is a difference between X-Factor-type-shows and Jersey Shore, but both seem to elevate fame for it's own sake; even where hard work and talent are not what is being rewarded. This has led to a whole generation(s) of kids valuing fame for it's own sake, rather than as a consequence of hard work. Definitely negative impact. We'll give this a -5 rating for 'beneficial impact'
Similarly, the music of girls aloud - this has created tunes I can happily bop along to when in the mood, but it's also meant Cheryl Cole, who most little girls (according to a recent survey) would like to grow up to be, so this creates the same problem as described in the first paragraph. We'll give this an arbitrary rating of -0.5, weighing up those two things...
The CoD series - hmm, perhaps there has been no negative impact other than the already-existing self-perpetuating desire for studios to churn out yet more of these types of games. HOWEVER, it's existence has no doubt also inspired some of the many smart people interested in game design to want to create more interesting video game experiences (think indie scene). So, perhaps in a way this has had beneficial impact of +2 (of course I'm being idealistic here).
Cakefarts get a 'beneficial impact' rating of 0, because that is precisely how long I want to think about cakefarts.
So, on that scale, CoD wins, I guess! -
Bravestarr. Eyes of the hawk, ears of the wolf... sex appeal of the fox.
-
National Geographic I guess, if only for the gorgeous, gorgeous photos. Of course, it's tough to decide between that and OK!
-
I've been fortunate to see most of my favourite artists over the past few years. I've yet to see Kanye, though. So him, perhaps. It'd be awesome to see him perform Runaway; I bet he'd bring ballerinas, after all.
-
Vidjagames? Yeah, they're alright I suppose. ;)
-
Sadly not! I do not envy you at all, living in a country which features more prevalent cockroaches than the UK. (Though, from what I understand, you also have worse creatures to worry about too, right?)
-
Oops, I missed this before. Well, if there is anything I could change about social media in 2011, it'd be that everyone will be using http://getloco.com; which they will do, once we launch. ;)

Ha, good question! My childhood ambitions were to be: a writer, an astronaut, a video games developer. (The astronaut thing was something I actually took very seriously till I was about 14/15, actually!)
The other thing was to be an astrophysicist. I really, really often wonder what astrophysicist Mitu is doing in an alternate universe, actually. S'also why I still keep in active interest in, y'know, space stuff.
Funnily enough though, I am still pretty much looking to fulfill all my childhood ambitions in a way; the writing petered out when I was a pre-teen, but well, maybe it's something that'll resurface. At least, maybe my early love of telling stories will find its way into video games (making video games is, obviously, an ambition which I'm still actively pursuing!)
I am also DEFINITELY going into space one day, I will make sure of that. (Thankfully, Richard Branson is making that easier...)
