I personally tried it, and it wasnt for me...Didnt like the workflow, I found it akward. But lots of people use it to amazing results. DiGenius used it to make "Now That I've Got Your Love" on Seans last album...A few Hip Hop producers love it too....

Point blank, good producers and musicians can make great music on different platforms as their career grows or trends change....MPC, Logic< Fl Studio, whatever....

just pick ONE and MASTER IT....lol!!!

Road manager and roadie.....2 different things.....Road manager does what YOU described...Roadie does what I described......

But I think Jamaican artists corrupt the meaning and say "Yeah man, dem man deh a one a mi ROADIES, yuzimi dawg...."....He really means his raod manager and part of his touring crew.

No< I will NOT tell you my honest opinion about Sean Kingston...Or Richie Loop....Or RIhanna....Or any artist that is out there doing their thing in the business.....

My personal taste is music is only my opinion, it has little bearing on what is deemed "succesful" in the music biz, which is REALLY want I'm trying to encourage anyone who reads this to aspire to...Success....

Hey, if I could have my way, Wu Tang Clan would still be in heavy rotation on my radio station :-)

Anywhere from around 3 grand to maybe 10? Nowadays......Unless youre a name brand producer, then you get to charge whatever you like ...:-)

    9. misterharding

Roadies? They lift gear, help load the tour bus, setup the stage...And usually get the girls from the front row backstage when the artist points them out.... :-)

      Tracking Engineer......does all the recording
      Mix Engineer......Only does the mixing
Assistant engineer....they guy that assists either of the above....probably hes patching equipment in the board. Sometimes he running the Pro Tools rig with the mouse and keyboard. Often times he may just be getting coffee..

Mastering Engineer.....completely different animal all together. His studio aint nothing like the studios where the records are made and mixed. His ears are probably the best out of all of us...lol!

Wow, I know right? Like everyone was sitting on their itunes link and finally decided to use it...lol!

Now the challenge is as you say....marketing and promotion...yet another are of music business we are clueless in....We sat back and let VP and Greensleevs handle it for years and we didnt care,....We just waited on the wire transfer of the advance, and that was it....lol!

Be careful what you wish for...VP/Greensleevs is outta the promotion game, and almost ouuta the music game entirley......Now the real work begins>>>>

3000-5000US per track......Yes, I know we cant afford that in dancehall.....But we can afford a Pro Tools HD system for 10grand instead of those rims you just bought......

Managers....Lawyers......Representatives that understand how music business works.

NO artist is gonna manage and book themself and make it internationally.....NEVER

    17. misterharding

Sean has grown tremendously vocally, he would be very flatterred to hear you say that...lol! He takes great pride in his vocal arrangement...sometimes I think its too much and we have to scale it back...lol!

Sure I've helped....me and all the great porducers hes recorded for throughout the years.....

Errr...When a song actually crosses over into mainstream America, then I think you can label it a "crossover" song>

Otherwise from that, all you can do is try and make a record that YOU believe has the potential to do so...
