Shorter girls have a great advantage (they can wear any heel height they want!) but when it comes to maxi dresses or gowns you have to be very careful. Prints of any kind are hard, but if you stick to micro prints it creates a nice illusion of length, other than that solid colors are the perfect solution. Also stay away from anything cropped (jackets, cardigans..etc) it cuts a part of your body and makes you appear even shorter. I found that wearing a v neck on any piece can elongate a body really well (works well on maxi dresses as well), I wear it all the time. Another trick I found to be helpful is the whole belting thing, I always wanted to belt my waist but it totally cuts my body and makes me appear so stumpy, if you were to use a belt on anything put it right on the empire like or on the hips, stay away from the waist, you want to make sure the waist is always elongated.
