Mostly I have the idea before the photo session, it comes to me in 5 mins if its impromptu self portrait photoshoot, (they are the best) or I have an idea spend a week perfecting it, (thats usually when I get in a model or book the college studio, or find the location, accessories etc) but the best surprises are when you start a photoshoot and you take something you didn't even think of!

my favourite photograph is a self portrait of me on a chair in the lake. It was so liberating taking that photo and it feels like when I make a huge effort for a photo it really pays off, it was nerve wrecking doing it in front of all the sunday people out in the park but I did it with the help of my mum! My favourite photo of someone else's? Its so hard to say! I think you'd expect me to say someone famous like Richard Avedon or Tim Walker but I find the people on flickr who inspire me the most.
