That would imply that they're capable of intelligent thought. Then they'd rise and want to form their own countries and governments, and would fight over the scare resources that humans do right now.

My biggest complaint was that it ended too soon, and the climax and ending weren't flushed out as well as they could be. It's actually my main complaint with all of season 2; many episodes ended too fast to have a good climax and end.
