I think Miami might be little too far behind the curve to capitalize on this growth while the entrepreneurship-bubble is still growing. Brad Feld (of The Foundry in Boulder, CO) feels it takes a core group of people a good 15-20 years to get a local startup economy really seeded in an area. I have it good authority that some big programs are headed to Miami to change this. If you like Miami and want to see this: stick around, volunteer within the community, use local talent, be a promoter of local startup events.
Watch for an upcoming StartupWeekend event November 12-14 (http://miami.startupweekend.org/ for announcements). IncubateMIAMI is keeping tabs on what's going on (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Miami-FL/Incubate-Miami/105611956137661). And, of course, nothing beats hearing it right from the horse's mouth. Get connected!
