Does that "first pet/Street you grew up on" formula apply here? If so, then I would be named Gwendolyn Summerlea...pretty sexy, no?

Do you really hate gay people or was all that "marriage protection" talk just bullshit for the christian idiots the GOP likes to pander to?

First things first: I am VERY flattered that anyone thinks my writing is significant enough to stand on it's own. It's been a long, long, long time since I felt anything I wrote was of any consequence. I take this question as one of the best and most unique compliments I've ever received. Thank you very kindly, whoever you are.

To be honest, I originally DID choose writing as my art form -- photography came along and chose ME. I'd wanted to be some sort of writer my whole life: Short stories, song lyrics, music criticism, straight journalism -- I'd done it all at one point or another. I was actually enrolled as a journalism major in college when I took a basic photo course as a lark. I admit I had become a bit frustrated with trying to be a writer. I seemed to be failing to find either a voice of my own or an audience for what I wrote.

I had no aspirations to be a photographer when I took the course...In fact I’d never held a real camera in my hands before. I’m not going to pretend those first photographs were anything worth seeing, but that first trip to the darkroom changed everything. taking a blank sheet of paper, putting in a tray of developer and watching an image appear out of nowhere...an image i had put there...Was too much to resist. From that point on, writing was just something I did to get a grade; photography was what drove me, what excited me. I devoted myself to getting better and better at it, trying new techniques and coming up with ideas.
Then came the big reveal: I was walking to class and a girl stopped me. She asked my name and if I had taken a certain photo of her roommate. When I said “yes” she asked me if I would take some (mildly) erotic photographs of her...for money! Without going into my personal/romantic/sexual life up to then, I’ll just say this was the major turning point in my life. This is the person you have to thank (blame?) for the shameless kinky pornographer standing before you now. I wonder if she knows about it?
All this said, you will be happy to know I’ve been taking up writing a bit more recently. This past year I had a singer record five songs that I wrote words and music to. I’ve also been posting short accounts of my adventures in kink/sexuality and received some wonderful compliments on my writing. It seems my “voice” found me while I wasn’t looking. Whomever you are, I’m sure you know where to find me, so stay tuned...there will be more writing in the near future.

I'm not sure, but I think the New York City skyline would be involved.

Folding clothes...Pants, t-shirts, dress shirts...They all end up in rolled up balls when I'm done with them.

My first gf dumped me the night I was going to propose to her. If we;d gotten married it would have been hell on earth, which of course I didn't realize at the time. Her dumping me was the biggest favor anyone has ever done for me - though I don't think that was her intended result.

One of my first shooting trips was to Las Vegas for four days. The person who invited me had almost no time to spend and everyone I scheduled to shoot flaked. I spend most of my time wandering around casinos feeling very, very bored. To this day, the mention of Las Vegas makes me want to spit on the sidewalk.

I would have to say my first visit to Tampa for FetishCon '07 -- I'd had some really negative experiences with fetish events in other cities and the warm reception I got in Tampa made me realize that I might just be able to find a place for myself in a world that I'd been on the outside of looking in up to that point.

Honestly, the past year has been fantastic. I've been able to do my art in exactly the way I want and with the contribution of some amazing people who respect and understand me. I found a new personal relationship that was as unexpected as it is fulfilling. My immediate family is healthy and happy as well. Even the Arena Football League resumed playing this year; no team in Pittsburgh yet, but maybe soon...

I really can't think of anything that's been a disappointment, except for the fact that time and money are always in shorter supply than I'd like. Anybody got a winning lottery ticket they'd like to loan me?
