I've spent so much time (and a class at university) thinking about optimizing pub trans. It's a challenging issue because pub trans only works when it has critical mass but can't get there without enormous investment when it's broken. I'd hire the top city and pub trans planners in similar cities that have the best systems in the world and have them solve the issue.

I love hypem! It's especially good for remixes but I wish it were more social. Lately I've been spending a lot of time on Rdio (social, awesome) and wearethehunted (great for new music discovery)

ok, I'll answer it. :)

Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Beyonce, Jay-Z, BIG, Nicki Minaj and co are pumping through my veins. I LOVE dance music.

I am a new hair color every other week these days, so I don't even know what pic you're referring to :) I'm a dark blond naturally though I've had black hair for the past 5 years until recently.

There are a handful of people who have ownership in StyleSeat, the vast majority is owned by me and my co-founder Dan. I'm the CEO, but I don't do any bossing. Except maybe our lawyers.

StyleSEAT (ahem) I do everything but coding. Product planning, bd, project management, marketing, analytics, finances, desk assembly. I try and do anything necessary for the developers to do what they do best.

Nice! There are so many great places to network- anything Dave McClure puts on will be good and Dogpatch also has a great event every few days. I'd also recommend finding a few folks you like on Plancast and seeing where they plan on heading. Typically small conferences about topics related to starting/growing a business in SF will have a good crowd.

We're bootstrapping. More to come on that front soon.

Too many messages to read. Facebook has evolved to be less of a place for good conversation than other platforms.

Software engineering is a fantastic career! It's ok to not have your parents approval all the time- if it's what you really want to do then you'll never forgive yourself if you give it up just because you don't want to go into a little debt. That's why student loans were invented.
Follow your passion, if coding is what you want to do then go for it and kick ass. Work hard you'll have a successful career and a lot of fun. In my opinion that's the only way great things are accomplished.
I have a good support network of women who've founded companies and/or are engineers. Feel free to send me an email any time if you want more advice, connections or simply want to reach out! melody at styleseat dot com. GOOD LUCK!! -
She's lovely. We've only hung out a few times, but she's smart and quite ambitious.
