This will probably depend on the success of the enhanced eBook in America, and I have to put a push on it so that it is properly publicized, and that will happen soon. Then I'll have answers about England etc.

I'm sorry you feel gipped, but being gipped implies you didn't get what you paid for or expected to get: as you bought my book with just my book in it, you seem to have gotten exactly what you paid for! The JKR interview is the length of a whole other book, plus the update has a 50 page chapter, pictures, videos, interview excerpts and more - what you're essentially asking is if you could have MORE than you paid for when you expected to receive just my first edition book in exchange for your money. So while I totally am on board with the effort, with trying to get more for your buck, and think it's a fair attempt, I don't feel any compunction in telling you no, that you are not entitled more than what you bought previously! You and my publisher entered into an agreement when you bought the book: you agreed to pay X dollars for what we promised was inside the book - and what we promised was exactly what was inside the book! Agreement fulfilled! :)

I wish it was a perfect world and everything was free, but it's not. I did try very hard to get a super discount for those who had previously bought the book, but there was just no way to police that; so I tried to make this update even cheaper than the original ebook, which, if you look at it like a publisher (which I assure you my publishers did), makes zero sense. Why is the bigger, larger, better book a lot less than the one that has been out for three years? So yeah. Not my call, ultimately, but I don't feel at all as though it's an unfair price for the longest JKR interview EVER. That alone, a lot of people would say we should charge mega more for - as it is, it's still the price of a regular book and you get the whole book and all the extras too. It's all good!

(I asked the question just as an FYI). I just discovered that Tumblr has an anonymous question feature, too, and frankly, I like the format more. People can like or reblog questions, I can add pictures and video, etc. People can respond! It's more like an interaction. I LIKE IT.

So, I'm going to start copying questions from here over to my Tumblr and answering them there.

http://melissaanelli.tumblr.com - see you there! I'll pop in here as a reminder here and there of course, but I am going to seriously start answering Qs there.

Generally no. If the phrases held by the commas are confusing, I'll include one.

There was something pure and right about the war ending in front of everyone. It made it more epic. Harry was master of the moment. He was a badass. The hush that fell over the crowd, the shiver of silence followed by the roar and celebration when it was done - the shaming of Voldemort in front of so many, the slow fear as all his would-be subjects gained power over him during that interaction - being faced with the very people he claims to be superior to, slowly realizing that they are about to *win*. There's something so powerful about that.

Also there's something I really don't like about the "let's finish this together" line. They didn't start ANYTHING together. Voldemort sought Harry out, Voldemort tried to KILL him. That is a one-sided event. A handy Hollywoody line that sounds good, but it doesn't mean anything in the context of the books.

Harry clears Snape's name. Harry defends Dumbledore. Harry defends Dumbledore's beliefs. Harry clarifies what the entire war has been about
makes it clear this is not chance - that he is going to win absolutely *because* he is a better person and Voldemort isn't just "less powerful," that the war is not *about* power, as Voldemort so wrongly thinks. Everyone needs to see that ultimate moment of triumph - it makes it MORE triumphant. It makes it everything it's supposed to be. The final showdown in front of everyone: Voldemort's shaming, Harry's triumph. All of that is less if no one but us see it.
