London has one Burmese restaurant that I know of - Mandalay on Edgware Road. It's a really lovely place, but not quite authentic insofar as no pork is served (I think the owners may be Muslim?) and pork is almost a linchpin of Burmese cuisine.

Depends who's doing the banning and for what reason.

It's not my be-all and end-all. I had a life before Twitter and my blog so I'd hope I'd have one afterwards. I have plenty of other geek distractions.

I care about provenance to some extent, but other than that, true.

Too many food writers seem to think they're reinventing the wheel.

Urban myth. Crab rangoon is Chinese as far as I know.

Burmese people don't eat cheese and don't often eat crab (the two vital components of Crab Rangoon)

Goat brains. Creepy texture and flavour. I was conned into eating them at a restaurant in Burma.

A beautiful noodle dish called Mandalay Meeshay. I could eat it everyday, but it's very faffy to make - lots of ingredients and lots of prep.

Faith No More - only because I like more of their albums. And they still exist.

Although I do love Trevor Dunn.
