Usually skills, except for family and friends that I don't need to do anything for me. If I have a problem, I want it handled by someone who knows how to fix it, not a friendly but clueless customer service person.

I think it depends on the skills of the person and how different the careers are.

Full spectrum lighting and neutral coloured walls and furniture. Privacy. My choice of audiobook, white noise, music, or silence. No unpleasant smells. No unexpected interruptions. Controlled temperature and humidity. Space to move around -- I have a low desk and spend most of the time on the floor; it helps to be able to change positions or bounce on my balance ball while reading. Tools, paper, and other essentials (like tissue, and hot chocolate) within easy reach.

"Too Loud, Too Bright, Too Fast, Too Tight", by Sharon Heller, which was the first thing I read about sensory integration/processing disorder. I had never realized before reading it that the way I perceive the world is atypical on a sensory level, and that most people aren't even aware of things I find overwhelming. It also introduced me to the idea that sensory defensiveness can be managed, and led me to seek occupational therapy.

Formspring Question of the Day
asked by FormspringI don't have enough RL friends to make a large group, and I'm perfectly fine with that. Even online, I find small to medium groups a lot easier to deal with.

My preferred tactic is avoidance...both on and offline. Basically just don't interact with them, and find something better to do.

Wow...forgot I had this thing. I usually forget to eat entirely in situations like that, to be honest, but fruit, brownies, or granola bars are the preparation-free snacks that I'm most likely to have around.

I've only really taken art direction from Julien, and there's usually a fair bit of screaming and crying involved if I have to draw something for him ^_^; Assuming you don't have the same objection to my 'childish' style, if you could sketch out the compositions and send them to me along with any notes you'd care to make about colours, details you couldn't render, etc. I think that would be a good starting point :)

Actually, you're doing better than I am at identifying them...I was just sketching from pictures of real hedgehogs that I thought looked expressive ^_^; Ah the joys of being aspie...

I don't recall...I think I was letting you set your own prices

It can be anywhere from a few minutes for a quick doodle to 40+ hours for a finished painting...the last time I tried pointillism, it took me about a week of working several hours per day, and the piece was maybe 7" x 9"
