this is true, self. i have a personal trainer-friend! friend. i am too poor to have a personal trainer! :) sorry for the typo guys. no pretense here!! :) ha ha.

No instrument is easy-breezy.. but for some reason, piano came a lot easier to me. Maybe because every other note seemed to make a chord? ;) I would suggest starting there, but for some, guitar is much easier. It's kind of about what fits best to your brain.

I wish I could say I stuck to one well. I struggle like everyone. I have a few tricks.

First of all, I really love to be active. My life is active!! :) I also love yoga, and I love weights.. I've heard the trick is a healthy diet, 20 minutes or more of cardio depending on the result you're looking for...weights need to burn like the devil or you aren't working hard enough.

When I'm being GOOD, I usually do cardio for 20 minutes, weights for the arms (working bi's, tri's and shoulders), calf raises and wall-sits. ( I love to hate wall-sits. they are most effective for "someone's about to film/take photos of my legs"-day.

...Of course, switching it up is important. I have a personal trainer who taught me 5-minute abs. Here's the work out
(Don't hate me for teaching you.. they KILL but are addictive and effective):

Set your stop watch for 5 minutes.

Minute One: Lie on your back, feet in the air, legs straight. Reach with your hands up to your toes for the full minute.

Minute Two: Right Side-Plank. Rest on your right elbow with legs straight out beneath you. Keep hips raised and off the floor. The tighter the better.

Minute Three: Plank. Resting on both elbows, pull belly off the ground and hold as if you were in a push-up. Resting on your elbows puts the heat on your tummy muscles, firming them and making you want to die before..

Minute Four: Left Side-Plank - Same as your Right Side-Plank, only the left! :)

Minute Five: Boat- Lie on your back, raise up into a crunch. Lift legs straight in front of you, legs slightly bent. Bring arms out beside you reaching toward knees, but remain balanced on your lower back and butt. Hold! For the full minute. OUCH!

Release, stretch. Do it again tomorrow!! :)

      Painful, but effective!

Motivation? My job. And Victoria's Secret commercials! :) ha ha.

I am au naturel these days. Nothing fake about me! ;)

I wore extensions for a period of time during Idol. They were called "Fusion".

The very breath in your lungs means there is a point. You are not a mistake. There is a purpose for you to be here. Our souls are set to question "Why am I here?" "What's the point?" from birth.

I do believe in a loving God who made you and made a purpose for your life.

Visiting www.mormon.org may be of help. If it's not the choice for you, no worries. But search to find your purpose. I know you have one.

It is actually the last name of a family friend, spelled "Cardon". My mom shortly after met a little girl named Carden Elizabeth. After that, she was shopping one day and saw clothing from designer Pierre Cardin and decided it had to become my first name! :)

      Depends which Playlist!

In honor of this fabulous Spring season and my Spring fever, here's my playlist for Spring/Summer. I call it "Flower Garden" because it's my favorite feel-good playlist to listen to outside walking/planting/car washing, etc.

      By Your Side - Sade
      Way Down Here- Kenny Chesney
Slow Me Down- Emmy Rossum (I'm obsessed with the video)
I Wanna Get Married- Nelly McKay
      Sunrise- Norah Jones
      Thinking Over- Dana Glover
More Than A Man- Dave Barnes
I Know Her By Heart- Matt Lopez ;)
      Rebecca Lynn- Bryan White
      Sweet Gravity- Due West
She Is His Only Need- Wynonna
      Raining You- Brad Paisley
      Babies- Regie Hamm
      Paris- Benton Paul
      If Only- Nickel Creek
      Trolleywood- Eisley
      A Better Rain- George Strait
House That Built Me- Miranda Lambert
You Picked Me- A Fine Frenzy
      America- Simon & Garfunkel

My "Ouch" playlist really inspires my songwriting. These songs hurt, but they kind of hurt good. Our best music can come from a sad place. Sometimes it's nice to know someone else has hurt like you on a yuck day. Just be sure to listen to the "Flower Garden" mix after. :)

Lesson Learned- Alicia Keys (feat. John Mayer)
I Can't Make You Love Me- Bonnie Raitt
I Know You Won't- Carrie Underwood
      Maybe- Dana Glover
      Love Ridden- Fiona Apple
      Elephants- Rachael Yamagata
Between The Lines- Sara Bareilles (maybe one of my very favorite songs of all time)
      Dead Flowers- Miranda Lambert
      Can't Complain- Nickel Creek
      Keep You- Sugarland

      For something up-tempo, check out:

      Diva- Beyonce
      Beautiful- Goldfrapp
      Come Around- MIA (feat. Timbaland)

I also LOVE Imogen Heap's "Ellipse" album, Paul Simon's "Graceland", Alanis Morissette's "Jagged Little Pill 10th Anniversary" album and Fiona Apple's "When The Pawn".

      :) Enjoy!!
      xo

WOW. Is this real? Who's behind this? Mom? ;) ha ha. Whoever you are, thank you from the bottom of my heart.. That means the world to me! Homm. I do know this- anyone who would say such a thing is definitely loved by me in return! For real! :) And thank you for your message.

    14. Cardin

I wear Dolce & Gabana "The One", Armani "Sensi" (unfortunately discontinued) and Satu "Poppyshowers".. And sometimes Britney Spears' "Fantasy" because my boyfriend thinks it smells like cookies. :)

    15. Cardin

"LMS"..? That sounds a little different. Is she "LDS"? The LDS Faith is known to encourage modest dressing. I question if she is LDS because "all parts of your body ALL THE TIME" is not something I have been taught. We as women are encouraged to be tasteful and modest, to show respect for our bodies, the creation God made. Exposing more skin than necessary is not encouraged. I appreciate your question and take on full responsibility of who and what I represent in my photos. I believe you are talking about modeling photos, which require a client to see my body type in order to book me. Even in those, I try to be careful and show only what is completely necessary for a client. I still run things past my mother as an adult.. She is a very faithful and is a conservative woman whose opinion I greatly respect. She's my gauge and that's just fine by me. :)

Oh, thank you so much! First of all, I have to thank my grandmothers and mother. I was lucky to receive their genes. They all have great skin. I did have problems with mine like every one else, and when I found a routine.. I STUCK to it. :) And I've tried a lot! I think I've had the same regimen now for a long time. I live on a budget as well, so feel free to snag any of my tricks!

Hope you don't mind the bit of advice I'll add. Feel free to take it or leave it. ;)

      Skincare:
      MD Formulations Cleanser
MD Formulations Benzoyl Peroxide on blemishes.
MD Formulations Moisture Defense Antioxidant Serum

I do not wear foundation. I don't believe many young people need to. I also have very sensitive skin and it's just never worked for me.

      -Neutragena 3-in-1 Concealer for Eyes
(I use under eyes and anywhere with redness)

      -Clinique Superpowder Double Face Makeup

-Bare Minerals blush in Giddy Pink
(On cheek bones and a touch on the nose. Blush is big with me. If I have nothing on, I'll swipe some on to give myself color. I am not a corpse, afterall. ;)..)

-I do a medium to thick line on top lid of eyes with Clinique Cream Liner in Very Black.
(I LOVE Bobbi Brown's Gel liner, but it is more expensive. Thick line on TOP verses bottom wakes up eyes a bit more. It's also a little flirty and youthful. However, an extra drawn out line on the corners curling up to the sky is not necessary."Cat Eyes" are not necessary on a daily basis!)
-I brush a little tiny line of Cream Liner on bottom lid around lashes.
-Maybelline Volume Express Mascara in Very Black
(WATERPROOF. I've tried $70 Chanel and I promise nothing looks like my $7 Walmart Mascara. All of the women in my family use it! I'm always asked if I have on falsies. It is the best mascara I have ever found.)
      - Eyebrow pencil from Walgreens
(We don't need to be fancy! And everybody needs it! Eyebrows frame the face! Fill in your brows with a pencil one-two shades lighter than your hair color.)
-Lip Liner also from Walgreens, but I love Clinique's Nude. I do liner and chapstick, rarely ever do gloss.

Personally, my advice it to KEEP IT NATURAL. What you're wearing on your face has nothing to do with your awesome personality, the poetry you write, the meals your rock in the kitchen or how great of a girlfriend/wife/friend/hopeful-object-of-one's-affection you are. Covering up your face with loads of makeup only takes away from who you are! The most beautiful women I have ever seen were ones that let their features speak for themselves. You're beautiful! Don't forget it! Hope you enjoy!
