Hi Mazarine! Nice to hear from you! I don't want to fund your Kickstarter, but I'd happily share a link to it with everyone I know. You are a very nice and smart lady.

Check out this bookmarklet to do a real-time search on Google. That's a fun one, and the code behind it offers some interesting possibilities for doing other searches, too. http://marshallk.com/google-real-time

To be honest, I usually look for companies providing services I personally want to use for fun or to improve my effectiveness at my own job. Or I look for companies that have good stories to tell. Whether a company is likely to become really big is not of much consequence to me, though I suspect it is to some of my (more business-minded) readers. So maybe it should be more to me too. :)

TechCrunch is more about business than we are, Mashable is more about marketing than we are, ReadWriteWeb is more interested in technology, its cultural consequences, telling stories about the people behind the companies, etc. Also, RWW is the best of the three blogs listed. :)

Tell me about it! My wife was just asking me about David Kirkpatrick's new book about Facebook. I look forward to reading it. That man has been a step ahead of me for decades! But I do think I am catching up since I first heard about him :)
