Go to a cafe by myself, or read, or sit on a beach, or hang out on a mountain :)

Mexican, Thai, and Mediteranean. I could eat (veggie) tacos until the end of time.

I use Textpattern and Wordpress currently. I am open to learning other CMS's, but I do find that those two tend to cover my needs! I tend to use Wordpress for blog-based sites, and Textpattern for most other websites. Both of these are free :)
Perhaps in the future I will look at Expression Engine, as I have heard good things.

Battlestar Galactica is by far the best TV show that I have ever seen, hands down. Just do it. GO. Watch it now!
Next would be: The Wire, and Lost.

these are tough questions, my friend. Nearly impossible to choose.

      Colours:
I love magenta, teal, and pretty much every shade of blue (though i love deep royal blue).
Believe it or not, I don't like the colour red, even though I like how it works in certain instances!

      Fonts...
also tough to choose, but if we're going for "classics", or the go-to ones that I keep reaching for, I'd say:
Bodoni, Trade Gothic, League Gothic, Whitney, Proxima Nova, and the horribly over-used but beautiful Archer and Gotham.

The built-in Textpattern editor is not terribly convenient. I tend to set up my site through dreamweaver, and set it up so that upon saving, it automatically saves onto the server. I set up a separate JS and CSS folder that does not rely on the Textpattern interface. This way, I also reduce the capacity for my clients to "play" with any of the code.

So i edit the Pages within Textpattern after I have built them in HTML and CSS first.

I just find Dreamweaver convenient for hand-coding because of it's auto-completion, colour coding, etc. I've tried TextMate, Coda, and others, but I just find Dreamweaver pretty straightforward.

      Hope that answers your question...

rvm_if_this_article, ebl-image-edit, upm_image, zem_contact_lang, zem_contact_reborn, zem_nth, asy_wondertag are the ones I end up using most often. There are probably tons more I haven't really made the most of yet either... time to explore methinks...

Actually, I have never used cufon.js in any of my projects! I fiddled with it years ago, but stuck with sifr. I believe at the time (not sure the case now), but you couldn't technically "select" or copy text that was done in Cufon. Not sure if that is still the case.
Now I have been using @font-face as well as Typekit.
Now you can add your own fonts with Typekit, so it keeps getting better :)

I started out as a fine artist, and graphic designed seemed like a legitimate way to make a living as an artist. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I didn't even really understand what graphic design was until I got into the program at York/Sheridan!

It wasn't until working at Thinkhouse (we did mostly print work initially) that I realized there was a need for sexy web work. My boss let me take the reigns on it, so I just started learning as much as I could about web, waking up at all hours of the night with bits of code in my head that I had to write down. More and more the work we took on was digital, and I loved it.

Web design became my passion, and lucky for me, it's something a lot (if not most) of people and businesses need!

I've had a little bit of everything: random freelance work, a few contracts at different studios (all print based), and full-time work at Thinkhouse Design.

Before all that, I was a bakery girl at Loblaws ;)

Hmm. Favourite part of the Olympics was watching the opening ceremonies in Robson Square, and meeting up with lots of friends.

Least favourite? The overwhelming crowds and chaos of it all...

My boyfriend got a job in Vancouver as a User Interface Designer at a video game company. They offered a competitive salary, paid for the moving costs, and offered FULL benefits for us both. It was an offer we couldn't refuse!

We also both have family and friends out here, so it made the move a lot easier :)
